Zhang Guorong asked Andy Lau to select the script roles of New Shanghai Beach first[5]。
When filming "New Shanghai Beach", the three main characters tried their best to complete dangerous movements in person. Tranquility was also hospitalized due to waist bone injury[6]。
"New Shanghai Beach" is the first Hong Kong film taken quietly.This film is also the first cooperation between Tranquility and Leslie Cheung and Andy Lau.
In order to shoot the film, Tranquility learned Cantonese.When encountering unknown places, Tranquility asks the director for help.
