brief introduction

Arch National Park
It first became a national historic site on April 12, 1929, and became a national historic site on November 12, 1971 national park Since 1970, 42 arches have collapsed due to erosion.
This is one of the largest concentration places of natural sandstone arches in the world. More than 2000 arches have been catalogued, the smallest of which is only 3 feet wide, and the largest Landscape Arch is 306 feet long. All the stones have a very strong color contrast texture. The stone was formed because it was a vast ocean 300 million years ago. After the sea water disappeared, many years later, the salt bed and other debris were squeezed into rocks and became thicker and thicker. After that, the bottom of the salt bed was broken by the pressure above, and after the crustal uplift and change, coupled with weathering erosion, arched stones were formed. New arches are still being manufactured; On the contrary, the old arch is also gradually heading for destruction.
The 48 mile back and forth landscape road in the park connects all the magnificent scenery and main arches, but almost all of them are viewed from afar. If you want to look closer, you have to walk a long way. If there is not enough time, here are a few things I think I must see. The Balanced Rock is right beside the road. You can see it clearly without walking across it. You can also find it in the postcard. Delicate Arch should be the most famous one. It is the symbol of Utah, and it is also one of the few remaining arched stones; However, it is not easy to walk to the side. It takes 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) to go back and forth. The two arches of the south window and the north window are connected in a line, which looks like a pair of eyes. Only one can be seen from the parking lot, and it is only 1.1 kilometers to go back and forth.

Causes

Arch National Park
Because the Arch National Park is located above the salt layer, coupled with varying degrees of erosion, many different arches are formed.
About 300 million years ago, this salt layer was an ocean. Millions of years after the disappearance of sea water, the salt layer is covered by the dregs in the air and water, and squeezed into rocks with other debris. After the uplift of the crust and natural weathering, it became today's arch.

Arches National Park in Utah was established in 1971. The reason why it is called Arches Park is that this area has more than 2000 sandstone arches with a span of more than 0.9 meters, creating the record of "the most natural rock arches in a region". The representative with the largest span - and the largest span in North America - is the 88.3m landscape arch, which ranks fifth in the world. (Guinness World Records) [1]
