On the way up the mountain, you will pass the Cascade Garden and the Cascade Brewery. The oldest winery in Australia has a unique appearance. From a distance, it looks like a huge French castle nestled at the foot of the mountain. The factory was built in 1832, and still uses the clear and sweet waterfall spring flowing down from the mountain. It is brewed by traditional methods. In the museum of the winery, the history and cultural customs of the winery and its surrounding areas are displayed.
The Pinnacle Observatory Shelter on the steep Wellington Peak can overlook the urban landscape of Hobart, the estuary of the Devont River and the natural scenery around the mountain. The valley at the foot of the mountain is often covered with mist or light rain, which adds a bit of beauty to the Shimuang Mountain.
