Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd. was founded on August 8, 2001. Its predecessor, Guangdong Yuedian Asset Management Co., Ltd., was the first power generation enterprise established due to the power system reform of "separation of power plants from power grids" in China. It was renamed Guangdong Yuedian Group Co., Ltd. in 2003.On February 18, 2019, it was officially renamed as Guangdong Energy Group Co., Ltd. On August 17, 2021, Dapu County held a signing ceremony for major clean energy projects, and the government of Dapu County signed a contract with the Hydropower Branch of Guangdong Energy Group CorporationDapu Pumped Storage Power StationProject cooperation framework agreement.The initial planned installed capacity of the Dapu County Pumped Storage Power Station Project is 1.2 million kilowatts, and the total static investment of the power station is about 6.2 billion yuan. After completion and operation, it is estimated that the annual power generation will be 2 billion to 2.5 billion kilowatt hours, and the annual tax revenue will be 120 million to 150 million yuan.[4]
