synonym Convective rain (Convective rain) generally refers to convective precipitation
Convective precipitation is from Convective cloud Specifically, when the convection develops to a certain extent, the precipitation particles in the cloud can no longer be held by the updraft and fall to form. This convective precipitation is characterized by small range, large intensity, uneven distribution, short duration and rapid change with time. [1] Convective precipitation is a common extreme weather phenomenon in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.

This convective precipitation is characterized by small range, large intensity, uneven distribution, short duration and rapid change with time. [1] Convective precipitation is a common extreme weather phenomenon in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
1 Convective precipitation is produced under the condition of atmospheric instability, mostly in the hot afternoon in summer;
2 Its horizontal scale is very small, usually within 0.1-50km, and the precipitation lasts for a short time, usually dozens of minutes, forming intermittent precipitation, often called shower;
3 Change of precipitation intensity. Convective precipitation is often accompanied by thunderstorms (lightning and thunder), which become thunderstorms.

Impact of global warming

The results show that in the past 60 years, the average annual and summer ground temperature in the Northern Hemisphere has been warming up, and 1998 is a sudden warming year; After warming, the frequency and intensity of summer convective precipitation events in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River increased; After the global warming, the water vapor content in the middle and upper troposphere shows a downward trend, while that in the lower troposphere shows an upward trend; Heat content increased significantly at 700, 850 and 1000 hPa except for individual months; The instability in the atmosphere also increased significantly. These are in good correspondence with the increase of the frequency and intensity of convective precipitation events, indicating that the change of atmospheric water vapor content, the increase of humid air heat content and the increase of instability caused by global warming may have an important impact on convective precipitation events.
