Intangible Cultural Heritage of Dingxi City, Gansu Province
Dingxi paper-cut is a traditional folk paper-cut art in Gansu Province. On June 1, 2008, the opening ceremony of the "Strong West Wind" Chinese Paper cut Art Competition and Dingxi Paper cut Art Festival hosted by the Paper cut Art Committee of the Chinese National Culture Promotion Association and Dingxi Paper cut Art Association was held here. Deputy Director of Publicity Department of Gansu Provincial Party Committee Jixiping Announce the opening of the competition. At the opening ceremony, the paper-cut art committee of the Chinese National Culture Promotion Association named Dingxi City as "the hometown of Chinese paper-cut art", "the inheritance base of Chinese paper-cut art", and "the creation base of Chinese paper-cut art". The leaders who attended the opening ceremony also issued certificates for "Ten Inheritors of Dingxi Paper Cutting" and "Ten New Stars of Dingxi Paper Cutting" and cut the ribbon for the competition.
In November 2014, Dingxi paper-cut was included in the national level Intangible cultural heritage Representative project directory extends project directory. [1]

Qin Sumei, Zheng Hongwei, Li Wangze, Wang Meiping, Zhang Minzheng, Wang Xiangji, Niu Fangqin, Liang Xiaoyu and Liu Shengru, the leaders of Dingxi City, Wang Guowen and Zhang Zhongtai, the old leaders who worked in Dingxi, attended the opening ceremony. Zheng Hongwei, member of the Standing Committee of Dingxi Municipal Party Committee and director of the Publicity Department, Wang Lanling, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Zhang Shuxian, director of the paper-cut art committee of the Chinese National Culture Promotion Association, and others delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
The competition was jointly organized by Shaanxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Tibet Paper cut Art Association and the Municipal Cultural Center. In this competition, more than 800 paper-cut boutiques from more than 480 paper-cut artists from all over the country were exhibited. On February 17, 2007, when inspecting Dingxi, General Secretary Hu Jintao and Ran Juying, a villager in Daping Village, jointly cut the original work "Back to Her Parents", which was grandly displayed in this boutique exhibition. During the conference, Dingxi Fine Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, "Charm Dingxi" Documentary Photography Exhibition and Dingxi Folk Art Exhibition were held at the same time.
The evening of the same day also held the "Charming West · Culture Dingxi" award gala. The Organizing Committee of the China Paper Cutting Art Competition awarded prizes and certificates to Fu Qiang and He Xia from Gansu, Wang Shaofeng from Guizhou, Ma Weiping from Hubei and the authors of 26 gold and 42 silver awards. In order to encourage the inheritance and innovation of paper-cut art and promote the development and prosperity of Chinese culture, the competition organizing committee also awarded the special contribution award, creation award and inheritance award of paper-cut art.
In November 2019, the List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Project Protection Units was announced, and Dingxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center was awarded the qualification of "Dingxi paper-cut" project protection unit. [2]
