Through interdisciplinary and technology integration research and development, a series of innovative achievements have been made, especially in the preparation of optical fiber sensing sensitive materials, precision processing of optical fiber sensors, and key technologies and equipment for industrial production, It has built the only national engineering laboratory in the field of optical fiber sensing technology in China, taking the lead in realizing the industrialization of optical fiber sensing technology in the country; It has broken China's foreign technology blockade, formed a complete set of production technology and equipment with China's independent intellectual property rights, and provided a new generation of sensing technology urgently needed for many industries, major projects and military industry in China. At the end of the 1970s, Jiang Desheng successfully developed the optical fiber wind pressure gauge for the first time in China. During a wind load test of high-rise buildings involving dozens of units, a typhoon struck, and the optical fiber wind pressure gauge developed by Jiang Desheng worked normally and obtained valuable test data.
In 2004, Jiang Desheng realized the real-time online safety detection of bridge cable force for the first time, and timely found the potential safety hazards in the construction of a bridge. This technology has been successfully applied to the long-term safety monitoring of more than 10 large bridges, such as the Second Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge. At the same time, Jiang Desheng has applied this device to the safety prediction of old bridges. [4]
