Shanxi Machinery Manufacturing Industrial School
In 1952, Shanxi Machinery Manufacturing Industrial School was founded, which is subordinate to Shanxi Provincial Department of Industry.
In 1953, it was put under the jurisdiction of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry and renamed as Taiyuan Machine Building School of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry.

In 1965, Dalian Institute of Technology and Shenyang Institute of Electromechanical Engineering were incorporated into the major of hoisting and transportation machinery.

Scientific research achievements

As of January 2024, the university has five National Science Progress Awards and one National Technological Invention Award.
