Daming Lake Station was opened on June 1, 1904, the 30th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, and was then called Jinan North Station[2]；It was renamed as Beiguan Station in the fifth year of the Republic of China (1916)[2]；It moved 1.128 kilometers eastward in July 1990 and was renamed as Jinan East Railway Station after reconstruction and expansion[2]；The new station building was opened on July 1, 1992[2]；Renamed Daming Lake Station on June 1, 2018[1]。
As of October 2018, the total building area of Daming Lake Station is 4467 square meters;The scale of the station is 3 sets and 7 lines[2]。

Beiguan Station
In the fifth year of the Republic of China (1916), Jinan North Railway Station was renamed as Beiguan Railway Station[2]。
In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), Beiguan Station was damaged by the Japanese army[13]。
In the 19th year of the Republic of China (1930), Beiguan Station was rebuilt in Japanese style[13]。
Jinan East Railway Station
Original Jinan East Station
In July 1990, the second line was added to the north ring road of Jinan hub. Beiguan Station moved 1.128 kilometers eastward and was renamed as Jinan East Station after reconstruction and expansion[2]。
On July 1, 1992, Jinan East Railway Station was opened[2]。
In September 1992, the continuation project of Jinan East Railway Station was started[2]。
In July 1993, the station building and overpass project of Jinan East Railway Station was completed[2]。
At the end of 1995, other projects of Jinan East Railway Station continued construction were completed[2]。
On December 21, 2008, Jinan East Railway Station was connected to Jiaoji Passenger Dedicated Line[16]。
On April 15, 2009, the temporary heightening project of the second platform of Jinan East Railway Station was completed[6]。On November 11, the first train from Jinan East Station to EMU[7]。
Daming Lake Station

On August 1, 2022, the transformation of Daming Lake Station will start[4]。On August 9, Daming Lake Station yard reconstruction project was completed[5]。

As of October 2018, the total building area of Daming Lake Station is 4467 square meters, including 241 square meters of soft seat waiting room, 923 square meters of luggage room, 1180 square meters of wide hall, 120 square meters of outer gallery, 1830 square meters of ticket hall, 173 square meters of exit, 1 overpass and 1 underpass for passengers[2]。
Overall layout
As of January 2022, the station building of Daming Lake Station is on the second floor as a whole, with waiting rooms on both sides, soft seat waiting rooms, compartments, ticket halls, exits, corridors, etc. When passengers waiting on the first floor go to platforms 4 and 5, they need to go to the platform through the underground exit channel, and passengers waiting on the second floor enter the platform through the overpass crossing the track[2-3]。
In the Spring Festival of 2020, electronic tickets will be applied to all high-speed railway EMU trains at Daming Lake Station. Passengers do not need to exchange paper tickets for taking the train. They can directly swipe their cards with second-generation ID cards to enter the station and take the train[10]；On June 20, electronic ticket was implemented for ordinary speed trains at Daming Lake Station[9]。
As of February 2021, Daming Lake Station will open one manual ticket window[11]。
