For vehicles within the scope of this recall, if water leaks into the rear compartment and cannot be discharged, it will accumulate under the rear compartment floor and cannot be seen visually. On March 28, 2016, Volkswagen Group announced that it would recall nearly 5600 golf electric versions in the U.S. market to solve the hidden danger that the battery might cause vehicle stalling.All electric vehicles involved in this recall are mainly concentrated in the US market. The AQSIQ released the investigation results of the longitudinal arm fracture problem of the coupling rod rear axle of the new Sagittarius vehicle. Through engineering test analysis and expert demonstration, the new Sagittarius vehicle equipped with the coupling rod rear axle has a potential safety hazard caused by the longitudinal arm fracture, which constitutes a defect.
The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China (AQSIQ) requires that FAW Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. should earnestly fulfill the main responsibility for product quality and safety, continue to improve the recall completion rate, continue to strengthen the monitoring of vehicles with liners, and take further measures to eliminate safety risks.
In August 2014, the AQSIQ launched relevant investigations.After investigation, the defect engineering analysis expert group composed of authoritative experts found that the anti deformation ability of the longitudinal arm of the coupling bar type rear axle of the new Sagittarius vehicle is relatively lower than that of the rear axle of the same structure. According to the investigation, the recall measures of installing lining plates have improved the anti deformation ability of the rear axle longitudinal arm and reduced the possibility of longitudinal arm deformation.If the longitudinal arm is deformed due to collision of the rear axle of the vehicle and the owner or unauthorized maintenance enterprise fails to find out in time, even after the longitudinal arm body is broken, the added lining plate can still keep the vehicle running for a certain distance.[19]

The French government confirms the detection gate incident is true

Reason for recall
The vehicles within the scope of this recall (I) and (II) are equipped with 1.2TSI and 1.4TSI engines produced in a specific period of time. Due to manufacturing deviation in the production process, the fuel rail bolts may have insufficient tightening torque, resulting in bolt looseness during vehicle use.In extreme cases, the seal of the fuel injection nozzle may be damaged, causing fuel leakage. The risk of fire cannot be ruled out, and there are potential safety hazards.
Due to the problem of software cooperation between the engine and transmission control unit for vehicles within the scope of this recall (III), if the driver suddenly changes his driving intention and releases the accelerator pedal when the vehicle is shifted from first gear to second gear at a low speed, the "engine stall protection mechanism" will be triggered during the shift, resulting in an increase in engine output torqueIf the engine speed is slightly increased, the vehicle speed may suddenly increase by 3-5 km/h within 1-2 seconds, which increases the possibility of accidents and has potential safety hazards.
Scope of this recall (IV) Due to the hidden danger of the insulation layer of the vehicle battery, the battery will become hot when in use, and the hidden danger of the insulation layer will cause a fire. However, this hybrid (the vehicle that connects the traditional internal combustion engine to the electric drive system and needs to be charged) has a fire risk.[40]
Scope (V) of this recall: Volkswagen said that when the four tires of the above model vehicles leak at the same time, the tire pressure monitoring system may not be able to detect the pressure drop in time, which does not meet the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138 "Tire Pressure Monitoring System".[55]
The driver's front airbag of vehicles within the scope of this recall (VI) is equipped with a desiccant type ammonium nitrate gas generator produced by Takata.After the vehicle has been used for a long time, if the driver's front airbag is triggered and deployed in a collision accident, the gas generator may be abnormally damaged, resulting in flying debris, which may hurt the personnel in the vehicle, and there is a potential safety hazard.[58]
The scope of this recall (VII) is that the engine connecting rod bearing may be damaged, resulting in engine failure and stalling, thus increasing the risk of collision.[69]

For vehicles within the recall scope (I) and (II), Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. and FAW Volkswagen Co., Ltd. will entrust authorized dealers to replace the engine oil rail bolts for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge and tighten the bolts according to the new tightening method to eliminate potential safety hazards.
For vehicles within the recall scope (III), FAW Volkswagen Co., Ltd. will entrust Audi authorized dealers to upgrade the engine control unit and transmission control unit software for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge to eliminate potential safety hazards.
For vehicles within the recall scope (VII), the dealer will check the engine and replace the engine free of charge if necessary.[69]
Emergency disposal measures
For vehicles within the recall scope (I) and (II), if the user notices abnormal fuel smell during the use of the vehicle, he/she should contact the authorized dealer for inspection as soon as possible.
This recall is an expanded recall of the "FAW Volkswagen Co., Ltd. Recalls Some Imported and Domestic Audi Vehicles" recall campaign released on October 19, 2021.The reason for expanding the recall is that through further product investigation, it is found that the vehicles within the scope of this recall have the same potential safety hazards.[29]
On March 7, 2024, the Ministry of Land, Resources and Transport of Japan released the recall information, which showed that more than 12000 vehicles were recalled due to the failure of the driving assistance system, including 5759 Porsche vehicles and 6536 Audi vehicles.The report shows that when the driver changes lanes using the active lane assist function of the car, the warning time displayed on the on-board display does not meet the safety standards.[85]
On May 21, 2024, according to the disclosure of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), due to software problems, the central control display and instrument panel display of the affected vehicles may fail to start, or occasionally reset, which may lead to the loss of speedometer information or the loss of rear view camera images.
