Before the founding of the People's Republic of China, there was no plastic industry in Xinjiang. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xinjiang Zhujiang Plastic Factory, Xinjiang Plastic Products General Factory, Urumqi Hongxing Plastic Factory, Urumqi Foam Plastic Factory, Miquan Plastic Factory, Miquan Plastic Products No. 1 Factory, Yining Plastic Factory, etc. were successively established during the "Second Five Year Plan" period. The main products are: Plastic turnover box , plastic buckets, basins, plates and other daily necessities, plastic pipes, Agricultural film , industrial film, packaging film, Stair handrail , foam plastic, etc. In 2002, the output of main plastic products was 230700 tons of plastic products, including 89500 tons of plastic films (68300 tons of agricultural films) and 5166 tons of plastic plates and sheets.
