Saint Ross College - Logo
Saint Ross College was founded in 1920 by Saint Joseph of Carondelet sisters [1] The founder of Saint Rose College chose the name Saint Rose to commemorate the first canonized saint in America, Saint Rose of Lima. The main teaching purpose of the school is the all-round development of people through a strong liberal arts curriculum. At the beginning of running the school, the teaching focus of the school was on the professional training of teachers. Then, because Albany Regional education needs have increased, and the College has expanded and revised its programs to meet these needs. The "Night Department" was developed in 1946 to meet the needs of World War II veterans, and was re established in 1974 to meet the needs of continuing education.
In 1949, the Graduate School of Saint Ross College was established to provide master's degree courses.

Saint Ross College - Student Campus Life
By the autumn of 2011, the school had 4863 students, including 2931 undergraduates and 1932 postgraduates. 67.8% are women and 32.2% are men, with an average age of 20 years. About 86% of the students are from New York State, and 14.7% are from countries or places outside New York.
