hydrology

The rivers in Taipei City belong to the Danshui River Basin. The main channel of Danshui River and Xindian Stream separated from Danshui River flow through Datong District, Taipei City( Pourompon Dadaocheng )Wanhua, Mansion Scenery Urban boundary of Danshui River Dahan Stream )。 [5]
Keelung River It is separated from Danshui River in Guandu area and flows through Shezi Shilin , Dazhi, Neihu, Songshan, Nangang, after leaving Taipei, continue to flow through Xinbei Xizhi Keelung City Warm and other places. In the past, because the river course was extremely curved, there was often flooding in heavy rain. Jingmeixi The Yujingmei area is separated from Xindian Creek and flows through Jingmei and Muzha to Shenkeng, Taipei County. In addition, there is a special climate feature: because the urban area is mainly located in the Taipei Basin, the climate is also deeply affected by the topography of the basin. In summer, because of the high mountains around the basin, it is difficult for hot gas to be discharged, so the temperature in the city is usually 1~2 ℃ higher than that in the surrounding areas. When winter comes, the mountains around the city and Hilly land Easier to form Orographic rain Around May every year, due to the intersection of Mongolia High Pressure and Pacific High Pressure frontal surface , making Taiwan enter Plum rain season At this time, the number of rainy days in Taipei will also increase.
