Catherine Ashton was born in Lancashire, England, on March 20, 1956.[1]
From 1977 to 1979, he joined the "Nuclear Disarmament Movement" and was elected Vice Chairman.
From 1983 to 1989, he devoted himself to combating social inequality and established relevant civil society organizations.
In 1998, he became the head of the Health Department in Hertfordshire, England, and the vice chairman of the British Single Parent Family Committee.
In 1999, she was awarded the title of Baroness Aphoran.[2]
In June 2001, he entered the political circle and became an important cadre of the British Labor Party.He has successively served as Deputy Secretary of State and Minister of Education and Skills, Deputy Secretary of State of Constitutional Affairs and Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Justice of the United Kingdom.
In June 2007, he served as the leader of the British House of Lords and the President of the Privy Council.During his tenure, he did a lot of work to promote the adoption of the Lisbon Treaty in the British House of Lords.
On October 3, 2008, he was appointed as the Trade Commissioner of the European Commission, replacing Mandelson, who returned to China as the Labor Minister.[2]
From May 7 to 8, 2009, Catherine Ashton and Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, co chaired the second China EU High level Economic and Trade Dialogue.[3-4]On November 19, he was elected as the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy.[2]
