The designer of the museum is Jean Nouvel, a French contemporary architect. His works are colorful, enchanting and full of imagination. Looking down from the Eiffel Tower, the Kebrownley Museum is like a huge ark resting quietly on the Seine River.
In the shape of an ark, this museum bears the designer's respect for the architectural expression of non western culture. More specifically, the museum collects and displays works of art in the primitive styles of Africa, America, Oceania and Asia. Chirac's idea is to give the art and culture that have been neglected for a long time their due status again. At the same time, he hopes that this museum can become a facility to promote peace and fully prove that every individual and different cultures have the same dignity. Therefore, the Kebrownley Museum is also known by the media as the "Non Western Art Museum" or the "Other Museum".
The harmony between this building and nature has cast its position in the history of world architecture. Architect Jean Nouvel arranged a large green belt around the museum, including a large garden of 18000 square meters. All the buildings of the museum are surrounded by this large garden. There are 180 trees with a height of more than 15 meters in the park, which looks like a forest museum.
At the edge of the junction between the museum and Kebrownley Riverside Street, Jean Nouvel also designed a road with a height of 12 meters and a length of 200 meters glass screen wall , which not only separates the museum from the street, but also integrates this colorful museum into the general environment of Paris. The whole museum looks open and transparent, like a bridge connecting western culture and non western culture. [1]
