Wu Guoqing is an immigration lawyer. He was born in Oakland, California in 1946. He majored in Bachelor of Laws from Los Angeles University University Of Hawaii His grandfather immigrated to the United States from the mainland of China in his early years, and experienced hardships because he did not know English. My father joined the US military in World War II, and was treated unfairly because of the anti Chinese law. Wu Guoqing married his wife, Zhao Meixin, in 1978.
Wu Guoqing started his political career as a director of the Monterey Park City Library, and then ran for the office of Mongolian city councilman (2003-2006), mayor (2004-2005), representative of California's 49 constituencies (2006-2012), and vice chairman of the Los Angeles Community College Council (2013 to date).
During Wu Guoqing's tenure as a city councilman in Mongolia, he organized activities to clean the city's appearance in order to improve the living environment of Mongolia; He also set up the Mongolian Municipal Environmental Protection Committee and proposed solutions to water pollution; He has set up a legal arbitration committee to provide advisory services for new immigrants who cannot afford lawyers.
