In order to make baseball more internationalized, in recent years, Asian countries have emerged the idea of organizing the "Asian Professional Baseball League": Asian Baseball Championship (It is held every two years. A representative team composed of players recruited by various countries will participate in the competition, not limited to professional baseball players, but only limited to local players). In addition, Asian regional professional baseball competitions will be held. Japan has 70 years of history since the establishment of professional baseball league in 1936; South Korea and Taiwan also established professional baseball leagues in 1982 and 1990 respectively; China's official professional baseball league, but also since 2002 to hold the Chinese baseball league, has also begun to take the prototype of professional baseball team.
Until March 22, 2005, under the leadership of the Japanese Wildball Agency, together with representatives of the Korean Baseball Commission (South Korea), the Chinese Major League Baseball (Taiwan) and the Chinese Baseball Association, a press conference was held at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, announcing that the first Asian Professional Baseball Competition would be held, and an executive committee was established. At the meeting, it was confirmed that the official name of the first competition was "Asia Series 2005", the participating team was the annual champion team of the national professional baseball league, the competition date was November 10-13, 2005, and the amount of competition bonus (50 million yen for the first place, 30 million yen for the second place, and 10 million yen for the third and fourth places). In addition, in the meeting, the establishment of the planning committee and the executive committee was confirmed, and opinions were exchanged on foreign candidates, drug inspection, technical committee, etc.

The participants are the annual champion teams of professional baseball leagues or leagues in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China, who will have a single round robin preliminary match. The first two teams in the preliminaries will play a final game. The third and fourth place teams in the preliminary will not have another third place match.
If the winner or loser cannot be determined in the regular nine innings, the preliminaries can be extended to the fifteenth inning at most; There is no limit to the number of games in the finals until the winner is decided.
The number of players of each team is limited to 28; The player qualification is limited to those who have a contractual relationship with the team to which he belongs, so he cannot recruit players from other teams.
The number of foreign players in the middle of the game is limited according to the specifications of the national professional baseball leagues or leagues.
The designated hit (DH) system is applicable to all games (pitchers do not have to hit on the court).
After the preliminaries, if two teams have the same performance, then the two teams will compare one by one according to the following four team records to determine the ranking order, and the one with the best record will get a higher ranking:
Results of preliminary match between two teams
Total points lost in the preliminaries
The total score of the preliminaries
Total hit rate of the team in the preliminaries
(Note: Due to the late start of Chinese baseball, the reserve players of a single team may also be insufficient. After coordination, the other three parties agree to the requirements of China to form a team to participate.)
