The first season of the band's summer premiered at iQIYI at 20:00 every Saturday from May 25, 2019[6], completed on August 10, 2019[33]。
The second season of the band's summer premiered at iQIYI at 20:00 every Saturday from July 25, 2020[7], to be completed on October 10, 2020[34]。
The third season of the band's summer premieres at iQIYI at 20:00 every Friday from August 11, 2023[29]The third issue will be premiered at iQIYI at 18:00 every Friday[35], ending on October 20, 2023[36]。
In 2018, Ma DongheMou TifindModern Sky founderShen Lihui, said that he wanted to be a variety show for a band and invited the signed band under Modern Sky to participate.At that time, Ma Dong conquered Shen Lihui with two "soul interrogations": "First, do you believe in iQIYI's S+level resources? Second, do you believe in Miwei Media?" The cooperation between the two sides was finalized within ten minutes.With the help of Shen Lihui, Ma Dong contacted with Taihe, Jiesheng and other music organizations, and also settled the broadcast platform iQiyi[9]。
Program production
The sound producer of "The Summer of the Band" is Jin Shaogang, the sound engineer at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games, who strives to restore the scene experience of live house and music festival.In order to better present the stage, the overall stage design of the program broke the normal design idea of space structure, combined with band elements, and used more than 600 light-emitting guitars to build the entire space, ingeniously dividing the studio into two stages, A and B, as well as the audience area, guest area, control console and other functional areas.During the performance, the luminous guitar surrounding the whole venue is combined with light programming, and the light changes with the music rhythm.There are no seats in the audience area, and the venue is given to the fans, who are allowed to surround themselves in front of the stage, release their inner feelings with physical actions, and immerse themselves in the sound waves.The program also gives all the voting rights to the on-site audience, taking the public's preference as an important criterion, and the audience can vote for the band performance according to their preference[1]。

Season 1
In the first three programs, the top 16 of the band were determined through the 31 to 15 qualifying matches and the 1V1 revival contest.
The fourth episode of the program opened a new round of stages, where the top 16 bands captured and killed each other in pairs. They selected songs from the works of eight singers, including Faye Wong, Pu Shu, Soda Green, Zhang Jie, Fan Xiaoxuan, and adapted them in a 1V1 duel[10]。
The seventh episode begins with the Goddess Cooperation Competition.Eight Goddesses with different styles perform together with eight bands[11]。
The ninth stage is the Resurrection Competition, in which six popular bands, including Loyalty Orchestra, Fruit Flavor VC, Cosmic Man Orchestra, Si Si and Fan, Mr. Miss, and click # 15, decide on a place to advance to the finals.But in the end, Ma Dong discussed with the director team to temporarily adjust the competition system, so that the admiration and Click # 15 can be revived at the same time to continue to compete for the HOT5 of Chinese bands[12]。
The tenth stage is the "Nine to Seven" elimination contest, where nine bands compete by adapting songs they heard as children with the theme of "youth"[13]。
The eleventh stage is the night of 7 to 5 finals, divided into two rounds: "Summer Theme Creation Contest" and "HOT5 Ranking Contest"[14]。HOT5 of the Chinese band was selected in this issue, but the ranking will be announced in the next issue.
The twelfth issue is the closing battle, mainly announcing the final ranking and holding the band's summer party[2]。
The second quarter
