The China Association for the Study of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau was established in March 1990. On the basis of years of work and fruitful results in the study of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau in China, it aims to accelerate the research on the sustainable development of resources, environment, and socio-economic in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, and strengthen the interdisciplinary and departmental cooperation in the study of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, It is a comprehensive academic group initiated by many well-known scientists in China and supported by government leaders.

The Council of the China Association for Tibetan Plateau Studies is elected every four years. The first, second and third honorary chairmen are the then vice chairmen of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and the current vice chairmen of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Ngapoi Ngawang Jigme sir. Former member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Liu Dongsheng Academicians served as the first and second presidents, and were employed as the third and fourth honorary presidents. Former Executive Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Sun Honglie Academicians served as the chairman of the third board of directors and were employed as the honorary chairman of the fourth board of directors. It was the fourth session of the Council (2003-2006).
The highest authority of the China Association for Tibetan Plateau Studies is the General Assembly of Members. The congress is held every four years, and its tasks are: to decide on the working policies and tasks of the seminar; Formulate and revise the Articles of Association of the Research Association; Election of the Council; Review the work report of the Council and the financial revenue and expenditure. The Council is the standing leading body of the Congress of Member Representatives when it is not in session, and is responsible for electing the Standing Council. The Executive Council elects the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary General. The daily office of the China Tibetan Plateau Research Association is the secretariat, and the secretariat office is located in its affiliated unit Institute of Geographic Sciences and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences The Secretary General presides over the day-to-day affairs of the Secretariat. Under the leadership of the first board of directors (1990-1994), the second board of directors (1994-1998) and the third board of directors (1998-2003), the research association has continued to grow and become the fourth board of directors. Purpose of award
The purpose of this award is to commend young Chinese scientific and technological workers under the age of 40 who have made outstanding contributions to scientific and technological work on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau due to their progressive thinking and good style of study, so as to encourage young scientific and technological workers to forge ahead, devote themselves to scientific and technological undertakings on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, and promote the growth of scientific and technological talents on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau.
Reward setting
The establishment of this award is decided by the Council of the China Tibetan Plateau Research Association after discussion, and the regulations and rules for the evaluation of this award have been formulated accordingly. According to the regulations, the award is awarded every two years. The award has a review committee, with Academician Sun Honglie as the chairman, and academicians Zheng Du, Li Wenhua, Sun Jiulin Li Tingdong Academicians, Ding Guoyu, Teng Jiwen, Xiao Xuchang, Yao Tandong Liu Jiyuan Researcher, Geller Researcher Pan Mao Professor, researcher He Xiwu, etc. The evaluation committee shall report the results to the Standing Council for approval. Members of the China Tibetan Plateau Research Association include group members, individual members (including senior members), foreign members, and honorary members. Individuals or organizations applying to join the China Qinghai Tibet Research Association can become individual members or group members after approval. 1、 Members who apply to join the Association must meet the following conditions:
1. Support the Articles of Association of the Association;
2. Willing to join the Association;
3. Scientific, technological, cultural, educational workers and managers engaged in or supporting the research and construction of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau;
4. Foreign scientists and persons who recognize the Articles of Association of the Association, fulfill the obligations of members of the Association, and engage in or support research on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau can be accepted as foreign members; Honorary members can be awarded to those who have made contributions.
2、 The membership procedures are:
1. Submit the application for membership or submit it online;
2. Introduced by more than two members or recommended by the unit;
3. It is discussed and adopted by the Council;
4. The Council shall issue the membership card to the Association.
3、 Members enjoy the following rights:
1. The right to vote, stand for election and vote of the Association;

If a member fails to pay the membership fee as required or fails to participate in the activities of the Club without any reason within one year, it will be deemed as automatic withdrawal.
6、 If a member seriously violates the Articles of Association, he/she will be expelled after being studied and approved by the Council or the Standing Council.
7、 Individuals and organizations applying for membership can submit applications for membership through the Internet, but they must also submit written documents of the application. After receiving the application materials, the Chinese Association of Tibetan Studies will notify the applicant of the results and future contact methods by email or in writing.
