First Opening Ceremony of National Pharmaceutical College
In July 1936, the Ministry of Education sent Meng Mudi, Xue Peiyuan, Zhu Zhanggeng, Chen Siyi and others to prepare for the establishment of Nanjing Pharmaceutical College, rented the former site of Nanjing Baixia Road Salt Bank as a temporary school building, and enrolled 40 students.On September 10, the Ministry of Education officially hired Meng Mu as the headmaster.From August 21 to 23, the entrance examination was held in Peiping and Nanjing.
In March 1937, the Ministry of Education began to build school buildings on the site of the Horticultural Farm of the Agricultural College of Nanjing Dingjiaqiao National Central University.In August, Nanjing was in a hurry. After enrolling a class of new students, the school building construction project was not completed, so it moved westward to Wuhan, taking No. 86, Siwei Road, Hankou as the temporary school building.In December, Wuhan was in an emergency. The school decided to move to Chongqing on the order of the Ministry of Education, and arrived in Chongqing on February 10.The Sichuan Provincial Institute of Education, where the school borrows magnets, provides classes, offices and accommodation for female students, while male students borrow from Chongqing University in Shapingba.
In the spring of 1940, the school bought 47 mu of Mintian in Geleshan, which is seven or eight miles away from Ciqikou, and built its own school building. In July, the new school building was completed, and the original Ciqikou house was separately set up with an attached experimental pharmaceutical factory.
In 1941, we successively enrolled two or three years of technical secondary school dispensing training courses or pharmaceutical training courses, and later developed into a three-year senior pharmaceutical vocational department.
During the period in Chongqing, the school plans to train 175 graduates from six junior colleges, 42 graduates from three senior pharmaceutical professions, 28 graduates from two senior pharmaceutical professions and 19 graduates from the first phase of pharmaceutical training. Under extremely difficult circumstances, the school has established an experimental pharmaceutical factory and carried out preliminary pharmaceutical science research, laying the foundation for the development of the pharmaceutical profession.
1945Counter-Japanese WarAfter the victory, in September, the school sent Secretary Jin Liwen to Nanjing to receive the original site.In July of the next year, they began to return to Nanjing in batches.Due to the serious shortage of school buildings, two classrooms and one student dormitory were built temporarily, and the laboratory was installed and the experimental pharmaceutical factory was restored.
From the end of 1948 to the beginning of 1949, the National College of Pharmacy participated in the joint meeting of emergency response of Nanjing junior colleges and universities, and made preparations for relocation. It was initially planned to move to Taiwan.Sun Yunxi and Zhang Guozhou of the Taiwan Pharmaceutical Branch dealt with the borrowing of school buildings in Tainan, and sent Zheng Jinfang to Taiwan.[3]

In 1953, the pharmacy specialty class of Wuhan Zhongnan Medical College was incorporated.
In 1955, with the approval of the Central Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education, the university enrolled and trained associate doctoral students in accordance with the Soviet model.[4]
In 1978, the recruitment of postgraduates was resumed, and the first postgraduates were recruited in four disciplines, including pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacy, pharmaceutical analysis, and pharmacognosy.
In November 1981, with the approval of the State Council, first established doctoral programs in pharmaceutical chemistry and pharmacognosy.
On January 2, 1985, the Ministry of Education officially issued a document approving the establishment of the Nanjing Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine on the basis of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Nanjing Pharmaceutical University.[5]

In April 2021, the signing ceremony for the joint construction of the First Affiliated Hospital of China Pharmaceutical University with Liuhe District, Nanjing was held.In November, China Pharmaceutical University and Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention officially signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement.[23]
October 2023On the 13th,The Global Alliance for the Development of Pharmaceutical Science, initiated and established by China Pharmaceutical University, was established at the second Global Forum for the Development of Pharmaceutical Colleges.[42]On December 22,Nanjing Tianyinshan Hospital affiliated to China Pharmaceutical UniversityUnveiling is enabled.[45]
On the morning of January 30, 2024, the signing and unveiling ceremony of the affiliated hospital jointly built by China Pharmaceutical University, Pukou District People's Government and Pukou District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was held in Pukou.Witnessed by the leaders attending the meeting, the three parties, namely, China Pharmaceutical University, Pukou District People's Government and Pukou District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, jointly completed the on-site contract signing and jointly unveiled the "Nanjing Pukou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated to China Pharmaceutical University".[46]On February 19, the Institute of Translational Medicine of China Pharmaceutical University was inaugurated in Nanjing.[47]

Jingye Jiqun was originally the motto of the National Pharmaceutical College. China Pharmaceutical University once changed the motto to "rigorous, realistic, united and innovative".
