Founded on November 15, 1978, the China Management Modernization Research Association is a national and academic non-profit legal person association voluntarily formed by workers engaged in management science research, teaching and consulting, enterprise operation and management workers, and relevant units. On November 15, 1978, with the approval of the former State Science and Technology Commission, the China Management Modernization Research Association was officially established as the Executive Committee.
In December 1981, it was changed to the Board of Directors, and the Director General and Deputy Director General were changed to the Chairman and Deputy Director General.
In 1984, it established contact with the Hong Kong Peihua Foundation.
In 1985, it established contact with UNDP.
In 1988, it established contact with the International Association of Small Entrepreneurs (ICSB).
In 1989, the China Management Modernization Research Association was registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
In 1998, it established contact with the Hong Kong Family Guidance Association. [3]
On January 9, 2018, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology issued a document approving the establishment of the CPC Committee by the China Management Modernization Research Association. [4]

Institutional setup

  • The highest authority
The highest authority of China Association for Management Modernization is the General Assembly of Members, whose functions and powers are as follows:
1. Formulate and amend the Articles of Association;
2. Elect and remove directors;
3. Review the work report and financial report of the Council;
4. Formulate and revise the membership fee standard;
5. Decide and propose a motion for the termination of the meeting;
6. Decide on other major issues. [1]

The Board of Directors is the executive body of the General Assembly of Members, leading the General Assembly of Members to carry out its daily work when it is not in session, and is responsible for the General Assembly of Members. Responsibilities of the Council:
1. Implement the resolutions of the General Assembly of Members;
2. To formulate the annual plan of activities of the Institute;
3. To elect the President, Vice President, Secretary General and Executive Directors;
4. Report work and financial status to the member congress;
5. Carry out rewards and commendations for members, and decide on the recruitment and expulsion of members;
6. To decide on the establishment of offices, branches, representative offices and entities;

Member organizations

The members of China Management Modernization Research Association are divided into individual members (including general members and student members) and unit members. [1]
  • Membership conditions
To apply for joining the China Management Modernization Research Association as a unit member or individual member, the following conditions must be met:
Unit members: working institutions, academic groups and enterprises engaged in management science research, support the Articles of Association of China Management Modernization Research Association, have the willingness to join China Management Modernization Research Association, perform the membership procedures, pay membership fees, and then become unit members of the Association.
Individual members: management science experts, scholars and practical workers with intermediate professional titles (or equivalent) or above, who support the Articles of Association of China Management Modernization Research Association, are willing to join China Management Science Modernization Research Association, perform the membership procedures, and pay membership fees, can become individual members of the Association. Among them, those with senior professional titles (or equivalent) can become senior members of the association. Foreign management experts who have high academic achievements, are friendly to China, and are willing to maintain contact, exchanges and cooperation with the Association can be recruited as foreign members. The doctoral students who support the constitution of the association, are willing to join the association, perform the membership procedures, pay the membership fees, and can become student members of the association when the study unit issues the certificate of doctoral students who are studying. The maximum length of student membership is five years. After five years, if there is no application, automatic withdrawal or delisting record, the student will automatically become a general member of the association. [1]
  • Membership and withdrawal
The procedures for membership are:
1. Submit the application for membership;
2. Introduced by two members of the association;
3. It is discussed and approved by the organization committee of the association authorized by the council or the standing council, and reported to the standing council for approval;
4. The authorized body of the Council shall issue a membership card.
Instructions for withdrawal:
A member who withdraws from the association shall notify the association in writing and return the membership card. Members who do not pay the membership fee or participate in the activities of the club for one year shall be deemed to have automatically withdrawn from the club. If a member seriously violates the Articles of Association of the Association, he/she shall be expelled after being voted by the Council or the Standing Council. [1]

Members enjoy the following rights:
1. The right to vote, stand for election and vote in the meeting;
2. Participate in the activities of the meeting;
3. Obtain the priority of the club's services;
4. The right to criticize, suggest and supervise the work of the association;

Members shall perform the following obligations:

The business scope of China Management Modernization Research Association is to carry out the following business activities within the scope of management science:
1. Organize members to carry out academic research and exchange, conduct field investigation and research in industries and enterprises, and prepare strategic and guiding research reports or monographs.   • China Management Annual Conference
The annual meeting of Chinese Management Science is a comprehensive academic conference in the field of Chinese management science, which aims to strengthen cooperation and exchange in the field of Chinese management science, promote the development of Chinese management science research, and improve the level of Chinese management practice.

  • China Management Youth Award
The selection of China Management Youth Award was initiated and implemented by China Management Modernization Research Association, aiming to reward young workers who have made outstanding contributions in the field of management.
The "China Management Science Youth Award" is nominated and selected in three fields and disciplines, namely, "management science and engineering", "business administration" and "macro management and policy". Each year, it is relatively concentrated in one field and held in turn. At most 3 winners will be selected every year, and those who are not eligible for the award can be vacant.
