The Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology was founded in 1980. The celebration conference was held in Beijing from October 6 to 11 of that year. Since the establishment of the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology, it has made different degrees of development in all aspects. As a national mass organization working on the history of science and technology, its members are mainly teachers, scholars and graduate students from universities, colleges and research institutions all over the country. At the beginning of its establishment, the Society had more than 200 members. For some time, the number of members has risen to 700. In most years, the number of members has remained around 500. Article 2 The Society is a national and academic mass organization registered according to law and voluntarily organized by workers in the history of science and technology, and is a group member of the China Association for Science and Technology.
Article 3 The Society abides by the national constitution, laws, regulations and policies, conscientiously implements the basic principles of the country for the development of culture, education, science and technology, promotes the fashion of "respecting knowledge and talents", advocates the spirit of dedication, innovation, pragmatism and cooperation, and adheres to the principle of independent and democratic meetings. Chapter III Members
Article 7 The membership of the Society includes individual members and group members. Individual members include ordinary members, student members and honorary members.
Article 8 Membership conditions: individuals or groups who are willing to join the Society, support the Articles of Association of the Society, voluntarily perform their duties as members and pay membership fees as required can apply to join the Society if they meet the following conditions.
(1) Ordinary members: professional scientific and technological history workers with bachelor's degree or above, or non professional scientific and technological history workers who have published more than two scientific and technological history papers in professional journals.
(2) Student members: graduate and undergraduate students majoring in or in the history of science and technology (subject to the identity at the time of application), as well as non major graduate and undergraduate students who have published more than one article on the history of science and technology in professional journals.

Article 9 Membership procedures:
(1) To join the association, an individual must apply by himself/herself, fill in the membership application form truthfully and submit the details of relevant academic qualifications and published articles to the office of the Association. Article 10 Honorary Members
In order to commend individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the research field of the history of science and technology in China, or who have made outstanding achievements in the construction of this discipline, and who have made significant contributions to the research, education and exchange of the history of science and technology in China, the honorary member title can be awarded to them upon nomination by more than 20 members and approval by the Standing Council of the Society. Honorary members are free of membership fees and are entitled to lifelong titles.
Article 11 Change and suspension of membership:
(1) When student members graduate, their student membership status will not be changed in the current session. Those who voluntarily continue to perform their membership obligations after graduation can become ordinary members.
(2) Ordinary members shall enjoy the treatment of honorary members after being awarded honorary members.
(3) When a member withdraws from the association, he/she shall notify the Society in writing.
(4) If a member fails to pay the membership fee as required, it will be deemed as automatic withdrawal.
(5) Members who have obviously damaged the reputation and interests of the Society may be expelled after discussion by the Standing Council.
Article 12 Rights and obligations of members:
(1) Ordinary members and honorary members have the right to vote, stand for election and vote in the Association; Student members have the right to vote and vote and have no right to be elected.
(2) The right to criticize, suggest and supervise the work of the Association;

Article 13 Membership fee standard and payment method:
(1) Members can pay the membership fees to the office of the society by session or by year by mail or in person, and the office of the society is responsible for issuing receipts.
(2) For ordinary members who pay by session, 200 yuan per session (half for retired members); The annual payment is 60 yuan per person per year.
(3) Student members who pay by session, 100 yuan per session; Annual payment: 30 yuan per person per year.

Chapter IV Selection and Removal of Organizational Structure and Responsible Persons
Article 14 The highest authority of the Society is the member congress, whose responsibilities are:

(3) Review the work report and financial report of the Council;
(4) Decide on termination;
(5) Decide on the work plan and other major issues of the Institute.
Article 15 The Society holds a member representative meeting every four years, and representatives are democratically elected by members. The meeting can be held only when more than 2/3 of the elected representatives are present, and its resolution can take effect only when more than half of the representatives present vote. The new Council of the Society is formed by the Congress. If it is necessary to change the term in advance or postponed due to special circumstances, it must be voted by the Council, submitted to the China Association for Science and Technology for review and approved by the management organ of the association, but the extension of the term shall not exceed 1 year
Article 16 The Council is the executive body of the General Assembly of Members, leading the Society to carry out its daily work during the intersessional period, and is responsible for the General Assembly of Members.
Article 17 The functions and powers of the Council are:
(1) Implement the resolutions of the General Assembly of Members;
(2) Decide on the number of executive directors of the current session, and elect and remove executive directors, chairman, vice chairman and secretary-general;
(3) To prepare for the convening of the General Assembly of Member Representatives;
(4) Report work and financial status to the member congress;
(5) To decide on the admission or expulsion of members;
(6) To decide on the establishment or revocation of an office or branch;

(8) To lead the work of all institutions of the Society;
(9) Develop internal management system;
(10) Deliberate the amendment scheme of the Association;
(11) Employ scientists, leading cadres and other people who have made significant contributions and influence to the research of the history of science and technology or who are enthusiastic about supporting the cause of the history of science and technology as honorary directors and honorary chairmen. (12) Decide on other major issues.
Article 18 The board of directors can be convened only when more than 2/3 of the directors are present, and its resolution can take effect only after more than 2/3 of the directors present vote.
Article 19 The Council shall hold at least one meeting every year; In special circumstances, the meeting can also be held in the form of communication.
Article 20 The composition of the Council:
(1) Candidates for the board of directors should be science and technology history workers who have academic achievements, decent style of study, and can participate in the actual work of the society.
(2) The directors shall serve no more than three consecutive terms, and shall not be cumulatively re elected after the next term. The number of directors renewed in each term shall not be less than one-third.
(3) The members shall be elected by the members' congress in equal numbers.
Article 21 The Society shall establish a standing council. The Standing Council shall be elected by the Council, and shall exercise the functions and responsibilities specified in Article 17 (1), (3), (5), (6), (7), (8), (9) and (10) when the Council is not in session, and shall be responsible to the Council.
Article 22 The standing council can be convened only when more than 2/3 of the standing directors are present, and its resolution can take effect only after more than 2/3 of the standing directors present vote.
Article 23 The Standing Council shall hold a meeting at least half a year; In special circumstances, it can also be held by means of communication.
Article 24 The president, vice president and secretary-general of the Institute must meet the following qualifications:
(1) Adhere to the Party's line, principles and policies, and have good political quality;
(2) Great influence in the business field of the Institute;
(3) The age of the president and vice president shall not exceed 70 years old, and the age of the secretary general shall not exceed 62 years old;
(4) Good health, able to work normally;
(5) Have not received criminal punishment of deprivation of political rights;
(6) Having full civil capacity;
(7) The Secretary General shall be full-time, or designate a full-time Deputy Secretary General.
Article 25 If the president, vice president and secretary-general of the Society exceed the maximum age for holding office, they can take office only after being voted by the board of directors, reported to the competent business unit for review and approved by the society registration authority.
Article 26 The term of office of the president, vice president and secretary-general of the Institute is 4 years. No more than two consecutive terms. If the term of office needs to be extended due to special circumstances, it must be approved by more than 2/3 of the representatives of the member congress, submitted to the China Association for Science and Technology for review and approved by the society registration authority before taking office.
Article 27 The president of the Society is the legal representative of the Society. If the Vice President or Secretary General is required to act as the legal representative due to special circumstances, it must be reported to the China Association for Science and Technology for review and approved by the society registration authority before acting as the legal representative. The legal representative of the Institute shall not concurrently serve as the legal representative of other organizations.
Article 28 The chairman of the board of directors shall exercise the following functions and powers:
(1) Convene and preside over the council (or standing council);
(2) Check the implementation of resolutions of the member congress, the council and the standing council;
(3) Sign relevant important documents on behalf of the Institute.
Article 29 The Secretary General of the Society shall exercise the following functions and powers:
(1) Preside over the daily work of the office and organize the implementation of the annual work plan;
(2) Coordinate the work of branches;
(3) Nominate the deputy secretary-general and the main heads of each office and branch, and submit them to the Council or the Standing Council for decision;
(4) To decide on the employment of the staff of the office;
(5) Handle other daily affairs.
Article 30 Branches of the Institute can use "professional committee", "branch" or "research association" as the name according to the nature of the discipline. When carrying out activities in the name of a branch, the full name must be used, that is, "the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology+the name of a professional committee or branch". For example, the "Professional Committee on the History of Mathematics of the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology", the "Local Science and Technology History Research Association of the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology", etc.
Article 31 Establishment and cancellation of branches:
(1) The establishment of branches must be relatively independent in the field of disciplines, basically not duplicate in the content of disciplines with existing institutions, and belong to the academic field that is in line with the current situation of China and urgently needs to be developed;
(2) When applying for the establishment of new branches, more than 30 members shall jointly propose, which shall be submitted to the Chinese Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Civil Affairs according to the organizational regulations of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology after being discussed and approved by the Council of the Society, and shall be valid after being reviewed and approved;
(3) The cancellation of branches shall be carried out in the same way.
Article 32 The organization and management of branches:
(1) The leading body of a branch shall be composed of a chairman, vice chairmen and members, and a secretary;
(2) Branches may formulate their own regulations in accordance with the Constitution of the Chinese Society for the History of Science and Technology, but their contents shall not conflict with the Constitution of the Society;
(3) The term of office of the leading body of a branch may be two or four years. At the time of the change of office, the scheme and plan shall be submitted to the Institute Office 4 months in advance, and shall be carried out under the supervision of the Institute Office after being approved by the Council;
(4) The leading body of the branch is elected by the members or member representatives of the organization (can be elected by correspondence), and can also be directly appointed by the Council of the Institute when necessary;
(5) The election results of the leading bodies of the branches shall take effect after being approved by the Council of the Society. The Society Office shall report to the Chinese Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and inform all members.
Chapter V Asset Management and Use of Funds
Article 33 Fund source of the Institute
(1) Appropriation from China Association for Science and Technology;
(2) Subsidy from affiliated units;
(3) Donation;
(4) Membership fees;
(5) Income from activities or services carried out within the approved business scope;
(6) Interest;
(7) Other legitimate income.
Article 34 The Society collects membership fees in accordance with the relevant national regulations, which shall be collected by the Society Office in a unified manner. The application for the use of funds by professional committees or branches shall be discussed and approved by the Standing Council.
Article 35 The funds of the Society shall be used for the development of the business scope and cause specified in the Articles of Association.
The head of the professional committee or branch can apply for funds to the office in advance according to the needs of annual activities, and the standing council will discuss and decide the annual distribution plan according to the proportion of registered members and actual needs.
Article 36 The Society shall establish strict Financial management system And ensure that the financial accounts and relevant materials are legal, true, accurate and complete.
Article 37 The Institute is equipped with accountants and cashiers with professional qualifications. Regularly conduct financial accounting and implement accounting supervision. When the financial personnel change, the handover procedures must be completed with the receiver.
Article 38 The Society manages its assets in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations, and accepts the supervision of the member congress and the financial department. If the source of assets belongs to the state appropriation or social donation or subsidy, it must be subject to the supervision of the audit institution, and the relevant information must be disclosed to the public in an appropriate way.
Article 39 The Society must accept the financial audit organized by the association registration administration authority and the competent business unit before changing its term of office or legal representative.
Article 40 No unit or individual may misappropriate, privately divide or misappropriate the assets of the Society.
Article 41 The salaries, insurance and welfare benefits of the full-time staff of the Institute shall be implemented with reference to the relevant provisions of the State on institutions.
Chapter VI Procedures for Amendment of the Articles of Association
Article 42 Amendments to the Articles of Association of the Society shall be reported to the member congress for deliberation after being voted by the Council.
Article 43 The revised Articles of Association of the Society shall come into force within 15 days after being approved by the members' congress, reviewed and approved by the competent business unit, and submitted to the society registration authority for approval.
Chapter VII Termination Procedures and Property Disposal after Termination
Article 44 When the Society completes its purpose, or dissolves itself, or needs to be cancelled due to division, merger or other reasons, the Council shall propose a motion for termination.
Article 45 The Society's motion for termination must be voted by the member representative assembly and reported to the competent business unit for review and approval.
Article 46 Before the termination of the Institute, a liquidation organization shall be established under the guidance of the competent business unit and relevant authorities to clear up the claims and debts and deal with the aftermath. During liquidation, no activities other than liquidation shall be carried out.
Article 47 The Society shall terminate upon the cancellation of registration by the society registration authority.
Article 48 The remaining property after the termination of the Society shall be used for the development of the cause related to the purposes of the Society under the supervision of the competent business unit and the registration and management organ of the society in accordance with the relevant provisions of the state.
Chapter VIII Supplementary Provisions
Article 49 The Articles of Association was adopted by the 8th Congress of Members on November 1, 2008.
Article 50 The right to interpret the Articles of Association is vested in the Council of the Society.
Article 51 The Articles of Association shall come into force as of the date of approval by the society registration authority.

The highest authority of the Institute is the member representative meeting held every four years. The Council elected by the Conference is its intersessional executive body. The Council shall hold at least one meeting every year, and the Executive Council elected by it shall implement the resolutions of the meeting when it is not in session.
