China and Gambia established diplomatic relations on December 14, 1974.On July 13, 1995, the Gambian government and the Taiwan authorities resumed so-called "diplomatic relations". On July 25, the same year, China announced the suspension of diplomatic relations with Gambia.
In accordance with the spirit of the Announcement of the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission on the Cancellation and Exemption of Charges for Some Entry Exit Certificates (Announcement No. 22, 2021, issued by the Ministry of Finance and the National Development and Reform Commission), the Chinese embassies and consulates abroad will no longer charge fees for ordinary passport annotations accepted from June 10, 2021[6]。
