The original saying is: xx host company garbage is divided into foreign servers for sale... I think this spray is very funny. It is generally said that VPS is divided into servers. Is there a problem? For example, if you don't even have basic knowledge, it is obviously not suitable to buy VPS. Let's build a computer room.
As for self managed VPS and unmanaged products, Zhao&Rong's personal understanding is that unless the machine hangs up and the network is down, other problems need to be solved by themselves. Some unmanaged VPS hosts may also reply to and deal with other problems, but please note that this is not an obligation, but a kindness.
2、 Do I need an overseas VPS, or why do I need an overseas VPS?
First of all, give yourself a reason. What do I buy overseas VPS to do? For example, learn Linux, or learn to set up the environment, or even access the Internet in a scientific way to learn more about the truth. All these are reasons. What kind of product do you start with? You should have a basic positioning, which is related to the product location or configuration you need. If you just want to be a personal website and don't like tossing about, I personally think virtual hosting will be a better choice.
3、 Do I need VPS from the US or Hong Kong (or Asia)?
VPS in the United States generally has larger bandwidth and lower price (relativity); Hong Kong VPS has fast access speed in China, but limited bandwidth. Therefore, it is very necessary to choose according to your own needs.
4、 Do I know enough about the rules and risks of purchasing overseas VPS?
Foreign hosting companies selling overseas VPS generally support PayPal or credit card (dual currency card) payment, and (many now) also support Alipay. A considerable number of foreign hosting companies review accounts, manually open hosts, and so on. Do you agree with and accept these rules? Do you have these payment accounts? Do you accept the manual review of opening time that may exceed 24 hours? These are the contents to be considered. The account registered with false and arbitrary information may be terminated at any time, or the direct order may become a fraudulent order immediately after submission. In addition, although there are very few people who run well, it is not absolutely impossible. Can you take the risk yourself? As an adult, it is not appropriate to scold the person who provides the information if he regrets or suffers a tragedy after buying. At least he should decide to pay by himself after consideration and bear all possible consequences and responsibilities.
5、 Should I buy a VPS from a foreign host company or a VPS from a Chinese host company?
I think each has its own advantages. Chinese VPS hosts generally support Alipay to facilitate payment; Chinese VPS hosting companies generally use Chinese pages, Chinese panels, and Chinese work order customer service support to facilitate communication However, many friends do not trust Chinese hosting companies. There are many reasons for this, such as running away or poor service. I personally think there are many subjective reasons. I believe that the difficulty of expressing the same problem in English and Chinese is different. China IDC must bear more "obligations", so I also consider this aspect myself.
6、 Does foreign VPS support refunds? How did you return it?
Also, some friends often leave messages on their blogs asking about refunds. I suggest that before purchasing VPS, first read the service terms of the hosting company. Foreign hosting companies generally include TOS (Terms of Service), AUP (Acceptable Use Policy), and so on. They usually have TOS on their home page The link on the page, read the refund section carefully, and confirm the specific matters according to the terms. Most refunds need to be submitted within the limited time by submitting a work order application (never go directly to the member center to click on the cancellation product, and see clearly that it is not a refund but a simple cancellation product). Any request that does not meet the service terms may be rejected and reasonable, PP dispute is not a way of refund. Some service terms have clearly stated that if you buy something without a refund, you have to return it, which can only say that you are making trouble for no reason. Therefore, you can reduce disputes by seeing it clearly first and then taking action.
7、 Are VPS resources exclusive? For example, CPU, memory, hard disk, bandwidth, etc.
In fact, this problem is very contradictory. In recent years, memory is not worth money, and hard disks are not worth money. Hens can configure higher. However, CPUs are not interchangeable, and bandwidth is not unlimited. Therefore, resources can only be regarded as theoretical exclusivity at most, but actually more as peak. Anyway, I think so. I won't ask the host company such an embarrassing question. How can they answer it? It's not like saying "exclusive". It's uncomfortable to say "sharing", but the fact is that all VPS share the resources of hens, and it's better to choose independent servers if you have a habit of cleanliness (in fact, I think independent servers strictly mean that the bandwidth is shared, otherwise you can ask how much bandwidth is allocated to one cabinet in the computer room and how much bandwidth there is in one computer room).
8、 Why does my VPS configuration download only 200KB/s of 2M bandwidth?
This common sense question is still asked by many friends. In fact, the most convenient thing is to ask your broadband operator, such as China Telecom. The unit of bandwidth is Mbps. If you change it to MB/s, it is divided by 8. For example, the 1M download is 128KB/s. This is still a theoretical value, without taking into account the objective factors, it is normal at 100KB/s. Here we have to talk about the bandwidth of the VPS in the United States. If the VPS in the United States provides 100M bandwidth (peak, shared), does this mean that my home is also a 100 megabyte telecommunications fiber, then downloading the files on the VPS can make it full of 10M/s? The answer is not necessarily! If you have similar expectations, don't buy any overseas VPS, just buy a domestic one. There is no way to guarantee the speed of downloading from the United States at home due to factors such as Sino US lines! Yes, you are right, there is really no way to guarantee (because no one can guarantee the line)!
9、 Is there no limit to what VPS can put?
It is recommended that all friends abide by the laws and regulations of China, the country and region where the server is located, and respect the service terms of merchants.
10、 VPS suction? Is there any overseas VPS without ventilation?
The overseas VPS is affected by the export line, so the air exhaust is unavoidable, but it is only a frequency problem. Be alert that some businesses will blame the air exhaust for any problems in use.
11、 How many people can access this VPS configuration?
There is no answer to this question. The number of visitors is only a part of the factor, and it is also related to PV, web page size, environmental component parameters, optimization degree and many other aspects. This question is answered by a paragraph on the Internet:
(1) The resources (CPU, memory, etc.) consumed by a static (HTML, JS, pictures, etc.) HTTP request and a dynamic (ASP, PHP, etc.) HTTP request vary from several times to tens of times.
(2) Note that the above is an HTTP request, not a page visit (1PV). The number of HTTP requests generated by each visit may vary several times.
(3) The PV generated by one IP may vary several times. Maybe your website's IP and PV access ratio is fixed, so you can calculate the number of PV based on the IP volume. Even if you can calculate it, it is meaningless. See the above and below for the reasons.
(4) Different website programs have different load capacities. Generally speaking, static HTML consumes far less resources than dynamic programs (PHP, ASP, etc.). The resource consumption of different static web pages is roughly the same, and the resource gap of different dynamic web site programs is relatively large due to the large base.
(5) The same website program consumes different resources with different settings. Take Discuz and DedeCMS for example, the settings related to load in the website background are prompted.
(6) Different Web servers have different load capacities. Generally speaking, the common Web server resource consumption on Linux is as follows:, APACHE > Lighttpd ≈ Nginx。
(7) The same server environment (Web, DB) and different setting parameters may consume different resources.
*Note: The "same" and "different" mentioned in each of the above are all based on the assumption that other factors are completely consistent (obviously, such assumption is only theoretical, so it can not be used for actual calculation).
For the above reasons, some users want to calculate the required resources based on "the same website program" and "the number of a PV or IP". The answer here can only be that it cannot be calculated.
Finally, I suggest that we should do a serious and regular station, try to choose domestic VPS, and use it after filing according to the process.
