HI, recently the company brought back a Lenovo server with a good configuration, so they wanted to build a common test environment locally, but this server is flat, unlike the host. This server is locked on the mainframe, and it is noisy and humming all the time. So they plan to put it away from me after they finish it, Otherwise, it really can't work. It's all noise. The system has been deployed. Because there is no need for a display, I want to set up an automatic broadband connection. Under the setting, I can log in automatically. I don't need to worry about other things. Then there is a problem when setting up an automatic login, so the image and text records here also emerge as the times require. OK, stop talking nonsense and go straight to the topic.

First, we set the root password. If there is a password, this step can be ignored. On the terminal, enter the following command:

 sudo passwd root

The root is the default account name, which is set according to the actual situation, and the password entered is not displayed. Make sure that the password entered twice is the same, as shown in the figure:

Next, click File Management in the pagoda panel system to find“ /etc/lightdm/ ”Directory. Here we do not apply the vim editing mode. After all, not everyone will use the pure character mode, and errors may occur during the editing process. So we directly use file management, double click“ lightdm.conf ”Configuration file, as shown in the figure:

Using the lookup name, find“ autologin-user ”Corresponding lines (there are two, find“ [Seat:*] ”The one that is empty after), uncomment (#), and type in on the right side of the equal sign“ root ”, as shown in the figure:

After all settings are completed, we save them and search“ /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/ ”Directory, found at the bottom“ 95-ukui-greeter.conf ”File, add the following code below:

 greeter-show-manual-login=true all-guest=false

After adding, as shown in the figure above, we save the file, and finally find the "terminal" on the right side of the pagoda panel to pop up the command line and type:

groupadd autologin gpasswd -a root autologin

As shown in the figure, because I have operated once, the system returns“ autologun The group already exists. Please note that“ root ”It is the account that you need to log in automatically. Remember to restart the operating system after all operations are completed. Then you will find that there is no login interface and you directly enter the desktop. Ha ha, I like it very much. Of course, copy and paste it online course I can't find it“ /root/.profile ”File, so you cannot“ Mesg n | | true is changed to tty - s&&mesg n | | true ”I don't know whether it is the problem with my server version. This file is not new. Normally, this file is systematic, and there should be many configurations. Alas, my goal has been achieved anyway. I don't know why other tutorials are invalid.

By the way, it is not recommended to enable automatic login for the sake of server security. It is like entering your home without locking the door. okay Graphic text tutorial End, leave feedback on other questions!
