At present, when we use SSH software tools to connect to Linux servers, we often use Xshell. However, some netizens mentioned that the selected server could not connect to the server. Here we can use these methods to eliminate and solve the problem.
1. The reason why Xshell cannot connect to the server
Server IP or port number error: Please confirm that the server IP address and port number you entered are correct.
Firewall or network problem: If you use the public network or the company's internal network, please confirm whether the network settings are normal. In addition, the firewall may also block connection requests, and you need to open the relevant ports.
The SSH service is not started or is configured incorrectly: Please confirm whether the SSH service has been started on the server, and also ensure that the relevant parameters in the SSH service configuration file are correct.
Incorrect user name or password: Please confirm that the user name and password you entered are correct and you have permission to log in to the server.
2. Xshell cannot connect to the server
Confirm whether the server IP and port number are correct. You can try to change a different port to connect.
If it is a network or firewall problem, please contact the system administrator to open the corresponding port or check the network settings.
Check whether the SSH service has been started and configured correctly on the server.
Confirm whether the user name and password are correct, and whether you have permission to log in to the server. You can try to use other user accounts for connection tests.
In addition, if none of the above methods can solve the problem, please try to connect with other SSH clients, such as Putty, SecureCRT, etc., to determine whether the problem is the Xshell itself.
