The billing method of DigitalOcean server and the method of deleting the server

The DigitalOcean server and some of our familiar Linode and Vultr use the hourly billing mode. If we normally open it for long-term use, it will be charged by month, actually by hour. If we don't use the machine halfway, we can delete it at any time, which will only deduct the time you have used. DigitalOcean adopts the post deduction mode, and the fees of the previous month will be deducted on the 1st of each month.

Therefore, we need to ensure that there is a certain balance in the account. If there is no balance, it doesn't matter whether it is bound to a credit card or PayPal automatically deducts fees. If these channels cannot deduct fees, our servers and accounts will be suspended.

If the current DigitalOcean is not ready, you can delete the machine. Note that the data must be backed up. If it is not backed up and deleted, it cannot be restored.

After deletion, the deduction on the first day of the next month will only deduct the time you used this machine last month. If you don't delete it, the fee will be deducted all the time. Even if you shut down, it will occupy resources and still deduct fees.
