What should I do if the traffic of the Vultr host exceeds? Upgrade package or charge separately

If we select a VULTR host ECS, we can see 512M memory and 1GB memory in the basic configuration, and the traffic is also limited to 500GB or 1TB traffic, which is monthly. If the flow cannot be used up in one month, the next month will not have the same amount of flow.

However, if the traffic is not enough, the excess traffic will not be stopped, but the excess traffic will be billed according to the traffic. For example, in different regions, each GB is charged separately according to the traffic in different regions. How can we deal with such problems?

1. Efficient use of traffic

Most overseas service providers have relatively large bandwidth, with 100M, 1G, or even 10GB bandwidth ports. However, the bandwidth is large and the traffic is fast enough, which is the same reason as using 2G, 4G and 5G mobile phones. We need to make rational use of traffic, for example, images with heavy traffic can be compressed, videos can be compressed, or servers or video storage can be used independently.

2. Upgrade package to increase traffic

The traffic of different packages is different. We can also upgrade the package to increase the traffic of a single package. We need to know that the traffic in the package is relatively cheap, and there are more traffic charged by each G separately. Of course, there is no need to upgrade if there are not too many.

3. Separate billing traffic

Some friends use more than a little bit of traffic. If you upgrade the configuration, it is not particularly cost-effective, so there is no need to upgrade the package. It is directly calculated according to the separate flowmeter fee, which is not much more.
