The first is the overall story. One clue of the film is "contradiction with classmates", which is shown to the audience at the beginning of the film. Although it is adapted from comics, the content of comics is far more than the length of the film, so the first part must be slightly modified or simplified before it can be put on the table. After all, the narrative focus of the film is not here. But the film not only copied the beginning of the cartoon, but also deepened the writing of this part. I can't see that any director wants to deepen the theme of the story through this clue, because the film also arranges a new "egg" to end the whole story. Therefore, I try to think from another angle. If the film is aimed at preaching the truth, isn't it a story that can be told without these irrelevant things? The answer is still no. Not to mention the sacrifice of the plot and the sudden change of the narrative center in order to quickly enter this theme in a limited time, it is also difficult for people to react at once. So I can only guess that the film, or the original cartoon, is so fragmented, just to put the huge whale, the vast universe, the origin of life and other very metaphysical things in front of the audience, so that the audience will feel shocked, feel the charm, and that's all. So any thinking about film is not what the director wants to convey to the audience, so it can be explained.

Secondly, the lines of the film. However, because these lines carry the world view and story setting, I have to listen to them. However, the film did not modify the written lines of the cartoon. The result of blindly moving into the film was that the audience could not understand the meaning of the lines before the screen flashed.

These lines were all delivered to an ugly old woman "Titi" with unknown origin and Jim's assistant Angrad. But they are always evasive at the critical moment, and they are tormenting my only patience when watching movies.

But in the eyes of ordinary people, this section is too "stream of consciousness". Due to the lack of details and the inflexible transition, the film's stream of consciousness is not as straightforward as EVA, but full of a lot of ambiguous metaphors. Therefore, it looks very empty.

I can't understand most metaphors at once. At best, I can only know the symbols on the surface - embryo, fertilization and so on.
