When I walked into Ai Lesong's office, a calligraphy work titled "Hou De Ji Sheng" was hung on the wall opposite the desk. On the right side, it was written: "A gentleman should aspire to be virtuous to help his life", and on the left side, it was signed: "A young doctor in Shahai encourages himself". This year is the ninth year that Elson has become a "little doctor in Shahai". The reason why he chose Xinjiang was, in his words, "hot in the brain". In 2014, after graduating from Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Elson returned to his hometown of Jining, Shandong, and worked in a medical care institution. One day, he saw the news that "Xinjiang is short of volunteers" from the class group, so he changed his work arrangement, signed up for the "Western Plan", and came to the 14th Division and 47th Regiment of the Corps to volunteer. When we first arrived at the 47th Regiment, there was no local TCM department. As the first local doctor of traditional Chinese medicine, Elson has built a department from scratch. At first, the diagnosis and treatment site was just a small room of more than ten square meters. In order to enable traditional Chinese medicine to take root in the local area, Elson actively strives for the support of the superior. The TCM consulting room is expanding and the equipment is gradually improving. Now it has become a professional clinic with an area of more than 400 square meters and 14 treatment beds. Here, Ailesong conducts massage, massage, acupuncture and other treatments for more than 30 people every day on average. "Every day I run back and forth in various consulting rooms, and the clothes in my coat are wet," said Elson. Ai Lesong told reporters that when he first came here, Chinese medicine was not immediately accepted. "The local people have concerns about acupuncture, cupping and other treatment methods for bare skin." He recalled that once an employee came here with a bent waist due to acute lumbar sprain. After acupuncture treatment, the low back pain was relieved, and finally left the clinic with a straight waist. As more and more people have been cured, employees have gradually trusted the treatment methods of traditional Chinese medicine. It is the needs of the local people that make Elson feel his own value. After the expiration of his service, he chose to stay in Xinjiang and become a permanent "little doctor in Shahai".
