More than 500000 Hong Kong residents received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

According to the Information Service of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, since the official launch of the Hong Kong New Crown Vaccination Plan on February 26, about 502500 Hong Kong residents have received the first dose of vaccine, and about 113000 people have received the second dose of vaccine.

The Center for Health Protection of the Health Department of the Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 7th that as of 0:00 on the same day, 8 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 had been reported in Hong Kong, of which 6 were imported cases and 2 were local infections of unknown origin.

Hong Kong has reported 11539 confirmed cases of COVID-19. According to Zhang Zhujun, director of the Infectious Diseases Division of the Health Protection Center, the new imported cases arrived in Hong Kong that day from Egypt, India, Pakistan and the Philippines, of which 3 cases were found to have variant viruses. On the same day, there were also about 10 new initial positive cases, most of which were imported cases.
