Original title: Mysterious buyer intends to purchase second-hand American A-10 attack aircraft

According to the report of "Simple Flight" on April 27, as the US Air Force plans to retire the A-10 "warthog" attack aircraft around 2029, anonymous buyers have expressed their interest in purchasing the attack aircraft. At present, the identity of the mysterious buyer has not been disclosed.

It is reported that the US Air Force has been trying to decommission the A-10 fleet for many years in order to concentrate resources on developing more modern fighters. However, the US Congress has repeatedly prohibited the US Air Force from retiring the A-10.

Currently, the U.S. Congress allows the Air Force to retire the A-10 at a slower rate than expected. In addition to the 42 A-10s retired in fiscal year 2024, the US Air Force proposed in its budget request for fiscal year 2025 that it planned to divest another 56 A-10s. According to the US Air Force, its A-10 inventory is about 281, and the last one is expected to be retired around 2029.
