According to the Provincial Department of Finance, the Provincial Department of Finance and the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development recently issued subsidies to support the creation of barrier free facility model areas in five counties and districts, including Luoyuan County, Fuzhou City, Shouning County, Ningde City, Shunchang County, Nanping City, Youxi County, Sanming City, and Luojiang District, Quanzhou City, with a subsidy of 10 million yuan for each model area. The subsidy funds are mainly used for the reconstruction and upgrading of barrier free facilities such as public places, road parks and squares, including barrier free passages, parking spaces, entrances and exits, stairs, elevators, toilets (toilets), wheelchair ramps, barrier free identification systems, information service facilities, etc. Since 2022, our province has arranged a total subsidy of 150 million yuan for three consecutive years to support the construction of barrier free model projects, model streets and model areas, explore and form a batch of replicable and promotable experience and methods for upgrading barrier free facilities, improve the level of barrier free environment construction in various regions, and enable the disabled and elderly groups to go out.
