Apple: No plans to expand iMessage to Android platform

At the World Developers Conference (WWDC 2016) held earlier this week, Apple said that the value of SMS service should not only be reflected in the exclusive official functions, for which there was a rumor that the iMessage application would be launched on Google's Android platform. Walt Mossberg, citing Re/Code, a foreign media, reported that the company has no plans to expand iMessage or Messages applications beyond its own ecosystem, at least for the time being.

Apple said that the expansion of services is not necessary at present, because Apple has more than 1 billion active users enough to support Apple's current research in artificial intelligence, which is a new field that the company focuses on developing at present. At the WWDC press conference on Monday, Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering, said that user data should be collected without infringing user privacy, which is called differentiation strategy. This method uses hashing, sampling and noise injection to gain insight into mainstream trends and ensure anonymity of independent user data.
