Introduction to Sichuan Left behind Students Care Action Project

In 2003, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Personnel jointly launched the plan for college students to volunteer to serve the west. In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the national and provincial talent work conference, further strengthen and improve the ideological and moral construction of minors, Sichuan Province launched and implemented the "Caring for Left behind Students" special project of the Western Plan in 2004, with the implementation scale of 200 people, 300 people in 2006, 400 people in 2008, and 400 volunteers currently on the job.

The main tasks of the special volunteers for the "Care Action for Left behind Students" of the Western Plan are to publicize the survival status of the left behind students to the whole society, mobilize people from all walks of life to establish a mechanism to help the left behind students, and strive for the government and people from all walks of life to invest in the "Action of Helping Left behind Students in Poverty and Learning"; Establish a trusteeship center and a team of volunteer counselors, carry out "one help and one" group support activities for left behind students, establish files of left behind students and contact cards for parents, set up family phone numbers, create favorable conditions for them to complete their studies and grow up healthily, and strive to create a healthy, happy, equal and harmonious social environment for left behind students.
