I (the leader of the 25th postgraduate teaching group of Jiangsu Normal University) got to know the "postgraduate teaching group" because of a lecture I attended in college. Listening to the touching teaching stories told by the members of the previous research group, I felt as if I was also in the west. I heard the children's words "Hello, teacher!" and saw their faces filled with bright smiles. So I made up my mind to go to the west to make youth different.

In July 2023, I got on the train to the land of Sanqin with my partners, and imagined the four seasons of life in the west. In September, I started supporting education in Lingqian Town Central Primary School, Sanyuan County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province. Lingqian Town Central Primary School is a Red Army primary school located in the Weibei Revolutionary Base of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in Shaanxi.

Through getting along with the teachers and students of the school, I understood the purpose of the school, and understood that "red gene, passed on from generation to generation" is not only a slogan, but also an entrustment. I will use my own efforts and colorful classroom to let children feel the happiness of growth while learning knowledge.

"Teacher Yan, see if I'm right!" In math class, I like to use praise and rewards to encourage children to learn. Whenever children answer questions, I will give them small rewards. Similarly, what they repay me is the satisfaction of knowledge and the happy smile of being rewarded.

"Wow! The bubbles are colorful!" In the art class, I like to design interactive learning links. I will invite children to share their creativity with others boldly, lead them to complete their works together, and prefer to invite them to take a group photo with their favorite works.

"Mr. Yan, look, the seeds we planted have sprouted! I hope they will grow up quickly, blossom and bear fruit!" In the labor class, I like to teach students the basic labor skills they have mastered in daily life.

"Polygonum hydropiper is so sweet!" In the comprehensive practice class, I like to let students practice by themselves. In order to spread the excellent traditional Chinese culture, I led the students to taste the Sanyuan intangible cultural heritage "Polygonum Sugar" and talk about the "history of Polygonum Flowers", so that they can understand and inherit Sanyuan County's "intangible cultural heritage" culture - "Polygonum Sugar" in the interactive activities of seeing, touching, smelling and tasting.

Outside the classroom, I like to chat with children. They know that I come from other places, so they are very curious about my hometown. Whenever I speak about my hometown and tell stories about my hometown, they will be fascinated, as if they have visited the hometown of lotus root.

"Teacher Yan, we want to win the first place!" When participating in the activity, I was deeply impressed by the children's efforts to win. In order to show the strength of the class in the competition, I and the head teacher led them to practice again and again. At the moment when I announced the results of the competition, I pressed the camera shutter in the cheers, and kept their happy smiles.
