"There is a kind of life in which you don't know the hardships without experiencing them; there is a kind of hardship in which you don't know the taste without experiencing it." The three-year service period is drawing to a close. Although the time of volunteer service is full of ups and downs, Xiao Lijia, a young man from Guangxi, is still proud of his decision to participate in the Western Plan, We are proud of our volunteer status.

Xiao Lijia, a volunteer of the 2021 Western Plan, is currently serving the Red Cross Society of Gar County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region. During his three years of service in Tibet, he has forged an indissoluble bond with "Song".

Before the Mid Autumn Festival Gala in 2021, Xiao Lijia saw a group of young volunteers singing the song "Country" happily in the rehearsal program. So he chose to join them. In the following days, Xiao Lijia used his professional knowledge to help everyone rehearse the program together. At the evening party, Xiao Lijia acted as the conductor and successfully completed the singing of the song "Country" with his friends.

"I love music, and I love using music to bring happiness to everyone. I hope to let more people feel sunshine and warmth in my own way," said Xiao Lijia.

Xiao Lijia was filled with emotion by the vast world of Ali, Tibet, and the new volunteer life. Shortly after arriving in Ali, he wrote the song "Volunteer's Second Hometown" in combination with his music specialty. In the lyrics, he wrote: "I was confused and wanted to go back to my hometown, but looking at the land of Ali, I would only like to turn into an eagle and fly freely here. The endless Shiquan River and pastoral songs are flying on the land, making me fall in love with the place." Since then, Xiao Lijia has become more and more firm in his original ideas and decisions, stay here, stay on the land, I dedicate my meager strength to witness the new changes in Tibet and the prosperity and strength of the motherland.

In May 2023, with the approaching of the senior high school entrance examination, in order to help students adjust their psychology, relieve their pressure and improve their learning efficiency, Xiao Lijia participated in the volunteer service activity of "Easy Preparation for Examination · 12355 Walking with You" held by the League Ali local committee, and used music therapy to relieve the psychological pressure and anxiety of more than 100 students in Grade 3 of the junior high school in Gaer County before the examination, Students are encouraged to write their dreams on balloons and let them fly, and shout out their expectations for a better future.

"Music has magical power. Through music healing games, examinees can actively strive to be 'little conductors', vent their bad emotions in a correct and reasonable way, eliminate psychological barriers, and greet the high school entrance exam with a relaxed and happy attitude." Xiao Lijia concluded after the activity.

In order to enable Ali teenagers to have a colorful winter holiday life, Xiao Lijia and his friends took part in the music interest class activity of "Youth Dream Building and Hand in Hand Children's Walk" organized by the local party committee of Ali League last winter holiday. Through small class teaching, they taught students basic playing skills and basic music theory of guitar and piano in the form of one-on-one and one-on-one, Develop students' ability to understand and express music.

"The winter holiday is not only a time for children to relax, but also a time for growth. It can improve their music literacy and improvisation ability during the holiday. I believe this winter holiday must be a 'wide' day for them." Xiao Lijia said.

"Youth choice, ambition thousands of miles, good sons and daughters across the world under the cloak of rain". As the three-year volunteer career is coming to an end, Xiao Lijia hopes that his "Ode to the Frontier" will come to a successful end. At the same time, he also hopes that more college graduates will join the Western Plan and write their own youth chapter in this hot land of Tibet.
