Ao Chunyan first learned about the project of the Western Plan, which was influenced by the teachers of the Political and Educational Office of the junior high school. Since then, she has had sincere admiration and yearning for the volunteers of the Western Plan.
After three years of getting along, the teacher is like a shining light, burying in Ao Chunyan's heart the "seed" of "pursuing the dream of the west, serving the grassroots, and serving the people". During her schooling, Ao Chunyan was keen on volunteer services. As a student cadre and youth league member, she has followed the steps of the League branch, organized and participated in many times in the volunteer services inside and outside the school, such as respecting the old and loving the young, protecting the Yangtze River, creating a civilized city, epidemic prevention and control, college students returning home, and "Three Rural Summer Social Practice" activities. After graduation, she actively responded to the call, returned to her hometown, became a volunteer of the Western Plan, and came to Shalong Community, Shuangshui Street, Shuicheng District, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province.

As a newly graduated student, when I was exposed to the work of relocation and resettlement community for ex situ poverty alleviation, I was full of anxiety and confusion. First, I was not familiar with the work content, work process and work methods, and second, my business ability was basically zero, which once gave Ao Chunyan a headache. Her work in the community is mainly to assist the youth social organization to serve the community youth "partnership plan" demonstration project activities, and work as a community grid member to carry out related visits. Through familiar reading of relevant documents, she humbly asked her colleagues for community work experience and methods. With the help and careful guidance of the leaders and colleagues of the street and community, Ao Chunyan quickly adapted to the pace of work.
Community work is complicated and there is a large flow of people. According to the work arrangement, Ao Chunyan insured the building. She memorized the family information and family members of 45 out of poverty families, 18 ordinary families and one family with sudden severe difficulties in the building, and learned about the education, medical care and employment of each family. By chatting with her grandparents, uncles and aunts, she became more familiar with the work process, carried out work seriously, and tried to "come from the masses, go to the masses, serve the grassroots, and serve the masses".

As a community grid member, Ao Chunyan needs to visit her home frequently. Every time she visits with her colleagues, she will make a record of her visit, collect necessary supporting information, help residents solve difficulties, and mediate neighborhood disputes. Some residents will also take the initiative to chat with Ao Chunyan about their daily life and give advice on community work.
Ao Chunyan is very happy that the community residents share their experiences and feelings with her. At the same time, she will also share her difficulties in study and work, and the residents will also freely put forward their opinions. Her warm, cheerful and conscientious working attitude has adapted to her post work in just a few months and integrated into the community. Grandparents in the community will kindly call her "Yaoer", and she will also respond enthusiastically.

Shuangshui Street has a large population base, a complex personnel structure, and a large number of floating population and tidal population. The salon community is an Yifu community, with many young migrant workers, the elderly and children in distress. During her work, Ao Chunyan often visited these children in need and empty nesters with social workers in the community to learn about their food, clothing, housing and transportation, apply for relevant subsidies for them, and help them solve their practical difficulties. When the sewer is broken, she found someone to dredge it, when the light bulb is broken, she changed it, gave homework guidance to children, and taught them to shop online.
What impressed Ao Chunyan most was that he once visited the home of a child in distress. The child was born disabled, unable to walk normally, slow in learning, slow in language development, and had to learn the simplest phrases for a long time, but he never gave up on himself. Instead, he studied optimistically and earnestly. On that day, she talked with the child's mother for a long time to understand his basic situation. The child gently held Ao Chunyan's hand and was very close to her. Since then, she has made as many home visits as possible, communicated with parents as much as possible, paid more attention to the physical and mental changes of children, carefully recorded each visit, and applied for relevant policy help for them according to the spirit of relevant documents and residents' conditions.
Another time, I met an old man in the community on the way of visiting. She was collecting waste products to subsidize her family. Ao Chunyan helped her to take the collected waste home, and asked her about her recent life and the academic achievements of her two granddaughters. The old man said: "Recently, everything has been very good. He has signed a community welfare post, has a fixed source of income, and the income from collecting and selling waste products, although not much, has been satisfied." The old man said with a smile. Before leaving, Ao Chunyan helped the old man sell the waste accumulated at home, and told the old man not to accumulate too much waste at home, so as not to affect the indoor sanitation and safety.
"Never forget the original intention, forge ahead". Although sometimes she can't cover everything, Ao Chunyan will try her best to help people in need, which is her original intention to "serve the people".
Ao Chunyan's participation in the volunteer service of the Western Plan has made her grow rapidly in the grass-roots community, improved her ideological understanding, personal professional quality and ability, broadened her personal vision, and strengthened her future path. She said that she would always remember the good times during the service period and serve more people well.
