The sixth batch of space science experiment samples of China Space Station returned smoothly
The reporter learned from the Space Application Engineering and Technology Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the sixth batch of space science experiment samples of the China Space Station returned successfully with the Shenzhou 17 manned spacecraft return capsule on April 30. Among them, the life type experimental samples were transferred to Beijing and delivered to scientists in the early morning of May 1, and the material type experimental samples will be transported to Beijing with the Shenzhou 17 manned spacecraft return capsule.

It is reported that the scientific experiment samples returned from this downlink involve 23 scientific experiment projects, including 32 kinds of life experiment samples such as protein crystals, living organic molecules, seeds, and 18 kinds of material experiment samples such as non container materials, high-temperature materials, and outdoor exposure materials, with a total weight of about 31.5 kg.
Later, scientists will conduct transcriptome sequencing, proteomic detection and other biological analysis on biological cell samples, providing new clues for the prevention and intervention of related diseases; Crystal diffraction analysis of life protein samples provides technical support for related drug development and vaccine development.
After the materials experimental samples arrive in Beijing, scientists will study the influence of gravity on material growth, composition segregation and solidification defects, providing support for the preparation of important new materials. At the same time, it is expected to make breakthroughs in research on lunar soil reinforcement materials, in situ resource utilization of lunar soil and other aspects.
