China News Network, Beijing, April 30 (Reporter Sun Zifa) The Youth Science Fiction Research Talent Exchange Forum of China Science Fiction Research Center was held in Beijing on April 29. On this platform built for the exchange and dialogue between young sci-fi researchers and industry experts, relevant experts and scholars in the sci-fi industry gathered together to discuss the current research situation and future trends in the field of sci-fi, as well as the challenges and opportunities faced by young scholars in carrying out sci-fi research.

In the "topic sharing" link, a number of young scholars, including the "sailing scholars" of the China Science Fiction Research Center, shared around science fiction culture and tourism, science fiction film and television, science fiction oral history, and the relationship between science fiction and scientific and technological innovation.

Wang Jiacheng, a doctoral student of Shandong Normal University, pointed out that the current important trends of science fiction culture and tourism consumption are digital consumption, scene consumption and experiential consumption.

Zhu Yuting, a doctoral student of Zhejiang University, believes that how to further construct the theoretical discourse system of Chinese science fiction will be an important direction of science fiction research in the future.

Liu Yukun, a doctoral student of Communication University of China, said that future science fiction film and television research could also focus on creative teams, publicity companies, video platforms and other diverse subjects.

Zhang Zirui, a science fiction director, said that AIGC has the characteristics of "technical kaleidoscope", which can have a deep impact on science fiction film and television creation in terms of "production process reconstruction", "cost reduction and efficiency increase", etc.

Zhao Wenjie, a doctoral student of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, proposed that we should encourage the spread of science fiction literary works and culture, strengthen the creation of an innovative atmosphere, and promote the development of science fiction education in various forms and paths to improve the scientific literacy of young people.

Li Chenxu, the producer of the "Oral History of Chinese Science Fiction" project, said that all the data collected by the project would be opened to Chinese science fiction researchers in the future.

Zhou Rongrong, assistant researcher of the Center for International Communication and Development of the China Foreign Language and Culture Bureau, explored the correlation between science fiction, technological change and the development of science and technology industry from the perspective of economics.

In the subsequent "round table discussion", the participating experts commented on the reports of young scholars, and conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as "current 'science fiction+' research trends and future prospects" and "support needed by young people to carry out science fiction research".

Wu Yan, a professor of South University of Science and Technology, pointed out that the China Science Fiction Research Center has provided a stage for young scholars to show and communicate, and more young scholars are expected to invest in science fiction research in the future.

Yao Haijun, deputy editor in chief of Science Fiction World Magazine, said that innovative science fiction research requires researchers to raise more new questions and explore more in-depth values. He hoped that young scholars could continue to work hard in these areas.

Chen Lifan, a science fiction writer, believes that both theoretical research and practical exploration are very important for the development of science fiction, and expects that more young scholars' research and experience can be promoted to play a role in wider practice.

Huang Mingfen, a professor of Xiamen University, believes that many reports show an optimistic trend towards the current development of science and technology, but the perspective of science fiction research can not be separated from the review and criticism of scientific and technological development, which also requires the attention and thinking of scholars.

Wang Xiaolin, a researcher at the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that the young scholars present at the meeting came from different disciplines and their research involved literature, film and television, communication, art, medicine and many other perspectives, reflecting the diversity of science fiction research. More research could be done in the future, such as exploring the source of teenagers' imagination and curiosity.

Zheng Yongchun, a researcher at the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, pointed out that research on science fiction education is worth exploring, including what types of science fiction groups of different ages prefer, what are the characteristics of science fiction created by teenagers, and what impact reading science fiction has on the cultivation of teenagers' curiosity and imagination.

Li Yun, CEO of Man Chuanqi Culture, believes that there is no consensus on the definition of science fiction at present, and there are still many "fake science fiction" products on the market. Young scholars need to clarify the concepts of "fake science fiction" and "pan science fiction" when conducting research. We look forward to more "industry university research" cooperation in the future, so that more research can truly guide industrial practice.

Researcher Chen Ling, director of the Science Popularization Creation and Communication Research Office of the China Institute of Science Popularization and executive deputy director of the China Science Fiction Research Center, presided over the symposium and made a summary, saying that since its establishment in 2020, the China Science Fiction Research Center has been concerned about supporting the development of young science fiction researchers, setting up research projects for young talents, and actively promoting the establishment of a normalized exchange mechanism. In the future, the center will continue to create more stages for young talents to display their talents and jointly contribute to the prosperity and development of science fiction and industry.
