At the opening ceremony, the National Flower Engineering Technology Research Center, the Rose Branch of China Flower Association, the National Innovation Alliance of Rose Industry of the State Forestry and Grassland Administration and other units awarded the plaque of "National Flower Engineering Technology Research Center Nanyang Rose Innovation Center", "China New Rose Variety Release Center" and "New Rose Variety Test Base" to Nanyang City respectively; Henan Branch of China Post and Nanyang Municipal Party Committee jointly unveiled the rose themed stamps of "Nanyang Rose, Queen of Flowers"; China Rose Branch of China Flower Association released 5 new varieties of Chinese roses.

In recent years, Nanyang has taken the development of rose industry as an important measure to boost rural revitalization and build a strong city of modern agriculture, constantly accelerating the pace of development. The city has cultivated more than 6000 varieties of roses, forming the largest breeding base of rose seedlings in China with an annual output value of 2.5 billion yuan. It is not only popular in 30 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, but also exported to Japan, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Russia and other countries, accounting for 80% of the domestic market and more than 70% of the total export volume of the country.

It is worth mentioning that with the full support of the World Rose Federation and the Rose Branch of the China Flower Association, the World Rose Expo is permanently located in Nanyang.
