At present, a new round of training for elderly care service attendants is being held in Shanghai, with the purpose of further filling the talent gap of attendants and promoting the standardized development of this industry.

This new round of training is jointly sponsored by Shanghai Open University and Shanghai Elderly Care Industry Association. It is mainly aimed at elderly social workers and nursing staff of elderly care service institutions in all districts of Shanghai, and a small number of places are reserved for students majoring in social workers and elderly care in Shanghai.

Lou Junjiang, secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Open University, said, "On the basis of the first round of training courses last year, we have updated and improved, adding courses related to the physiological characteristics of the elderly and risk prevention of accompanying clinics. In the professional skills section, we focus on medical emergency related courses, full process practical exercises, and vital signs observation and other skills."

The courses of this round of training cover the basic process of accompanying medical services, basic process of medical treatment, physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly, communication skills of accompanying medical services and legal responsibilities.

Zheng Haiyan, the accompanying doctor, said: "Before diagnosis, we will have a lot of work, such as collecting the needs of family members, collecting the basic information of patients. We will also help customers to do some pre diagnosis triage, and do some medical planning work. During diagnosis, we will accompany customers to the hospital, and we will have many scenes. In the post diagnosis phase, the accompanying physician can assist the customer to do some registration and sorting work, record the doctor's orders, and synchronize with the family. "

In addition to the related processes of accompanying doctors, more importantly, accompanying doctors also need to have some basic medical knowledge.

For example, if a tumor patient's CT report is sent, we can see whether there is metastasis, and if there is metastasis, we may recommend him to go to the Department of Oncology. However, "Accompanying Physicians" has not been included in China's occupational classification. In order to further standardize development, two group standards, namely, "Requirements for Accompanying Physicians' Skills" and "Standards for Accompanying Physicians' Services", are being drafted.
