[Significance]
This year marks the 27th anniversary of the establishment of China ASEAN dialogue relations, the year of China ASEAN friendly exchanges and the 7th anniversary of the completion of the China ASEAN Free Trade Area. As the forefront of China's opening up and cooperation to ASEAN and a major forestry province in China, Guangxi's hosting of the 9th China ASEAN Expo Forest Products and Wood Products, Woodworking Machinery, Custom Home Furnishing Expo in 2018 is of great significance:
（1） The China ASEAN Expo has become an important platform for political, diplomatic, economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN. Over the years, it has continuously provided help and services to different fields and industries in various countries. As the pillar industry of China's national economy, forestry plays a very important role in China's trade with ASEAN. The choice of forestry as the service content of the Expo not only reflects the purpose of the Expo's multi field cooperation, but also implements the specific measures taken by the Central Committee to attach importance to the development of relations with ASEAN.
（2） ASEAN is a key area for China to implement the strategy of market diversification and "going out". Holding the forest products and wood products exhibition will build a bridge for Chinese enterprises to speed up the development of ASEAN market and "going out", and accelerate the regional integrated development of forestry. Over the past 14 years, through the establishment of a series of working mechanisms, the Expo has achieved good economic benefits and valuable experience in implementing the market diversification strategy and the "going global" strategy. Relying on the influence of the Expo to hold the exhibition of forest products and wood products is conducive to improving the quality and efficiency of China's forestry cooperation with ASEAN, promoting the regional integration of forestry development between China and ASEAN, and improving the status and role of China's forestry in the international region.

Since the China ASEAN Expo was held in 2004, various international and regional exhibitions and conferences have been held in Guangxi, establishing a good foundation for cooperation with ASEAN countries. Holding the exhibition of forest products and wood products, woodworking machinery and customized furniture will help domestic provinces and cities to establish a broader cooperation mechanism with ASEAN forestry departments and enterprises, promote high-level exchanges between forestry departments of various countries, enhance dialogue and mutual trust, and carry out extensive cooperation and exchanges on resources, information, talents, technology and products.
