There is such a group of people who will patrol the streets and lanes, looking for vagrants and beggars at any time, and giving them timely help, no matter day or night, whether the sun is hot or the weather is cold. This kind of rescue service reaches a key node every holiday. In order to build a "warm home" for those who are unable to go home for various reasons, temporarily trapped people and vagrants and beggars, the staff of the municipal relief management station gave up meeting with their families and stuck to their jobs. The reporter followed the staff of the municipal rescue management station to record their warm rescue stories.

In the morning of April 30, when the reporter came to the municipal rescue management station, he saw that the staff of the rescue management section were bagging mineral water, bread, instant noodles, ham sausage and other rescue items. "Every time we patrol, we will bring some relief supplies. When we meet people who need help, we can let them eat in time," said Liu Huan, head of the relief management section. At 8:30, the reporter also boarded the rescue vehicle with the staff with the rescue materials.

Changchun Station North Square, Guilin Road, Chongqing Road... According to the daily patrol, the staff found the possible locations of vagrants and beggars, and began street patrol. Wang Lina, deputy head of the municipal rescue management station, told reporters that street patrols like this would be carried out three times every morning, noon and evening. In order to find vagrants in time, they must go to railway stations, passenger stations, abandoned houses, bridges and culverts, construction sites, prosperous streets, bank self-service areas and urban and rural junction areas. At the same time, the municipal rescue management station has set up a 24-hour rescue hotline and implemented a 24-hour reception duty system. The duty personnel, patrol personnel and drivers on duty are on standby 24 hours a day.

"It's a good season now. In winter, I am most worried about the frostbite of homeless people." Wang Lina said that the lowest temperature in Changchun in winter can reach more than minus 30 degrees Celsius. At that time, the staff will increase the frequency and intensity of street patrols. Once, when the staff was patrolling, they met a man in distress, Mr. Li. When they found him, he was curled up in an abandoned house with thin clothes on his body. After patient communication, the staff learned that he was penniless because he failed to work. After verification, the staff bought a train ticket as fast as possible and sent him to the train home. "I don't know what will happen if it is not found in time..."

During the inspection, the bank self-service area is also an important point. On one occasion, the staff found Lao Zhang, a vagrant and beggar living in the self-service area of a bank. That time, Lao Zhang was lying on the ground with a thick quilt. Despite the staff's persuasion, he was still unwilling to go to the rescue station to receive help. To ensure his safety, the staff did not turn around and leave, but talked with him patiently. The staff found something wrong with Lao Zhang and helped him to get up. Lao Zhang was obviously not able to use his legs. In an emergency, the staff sent Lao Zhang to the caring ward of the Municipal People's Hospital as soon as possible. After a period of treatment, Lao Zhang's condition stabilized, and the staff accompanied him back to his hometown in Shandong by train.

Patrolling all the way, when I came to the pedestrian crossing of the First Hospital of Jida, I saw an old man kneeling on the ground. "Aunt, get up and go home. I didn't tell you last time. Don't come out again, and live at home." Wang Lina took out a box of eight treasure porridge and handed it to the old man. After waiting for a few minutes, the old man began to pick up the things on the ground. Looking at the old man's back, Wang Lina told reporters that the old man was already a "frequent beggar". For such beggars, the staff will query the information of the beggars through the "face recognition" system, and contact the territory to properly settle them. Often they will meet again in a few days, and they can only persuade them again.

During patrols, in addition to providing timely assistance to vagrants and other people, helping them find their families is also one of the important tasks of the staff. While the reporter was following the staff on patrol, the information came from the phone on duty of the municipal rescue management station: there was an old man who was suspected of sleeping on the street near Changchun Station. He was not able to move and needed help urgently.

After receiving the call, the patrol car went straight to the scene. Under the guidance of the enthusiastic citizens, the staff found the old man. The old man claimed to be from Harbin, without children. He went to Changchun to look for a friend he had not contacted for many years. Not only did he not find his friend, but he also lost his wallet. "I haven't eaten for two days, and I want to go home." The old man sobbed. After taking the old man to finish the meal, the staff issued a ticket change voucher for the old man to Harbin. The staff didn't leave until the old man was successfully sent to the train.

At this time, it is 14:00. "The rescue management work has no holiday and no concept of time. In case of emergency rescue, we don't even have time to eat." Wang Lina said painfully, looking at the tired staff. During the interview, the reporter learned that it is common for the staff to escort the vagrants back to their hometown. If there are holidays and train tickets are scarce, they often stop all the way. "Once, after sending vagrants back, I returned to Changchun from Jinzhou Station for more than 7 hours," Liu Huan recalled. In his opinion, such hard work is nothing.

During the "May Day", the duty personnel of the Rescue Management Section of the Municipal Rescue Management Station started work on time every day. The patrol team carried out regular street patrols every day. The medical staff checked the body of the station's assisted personnel every day, and guarded the vagrants and beggars and temporarily trapped people with the service of "keep on file" and "keep open".
