According to the statistics of Chongqing Customs, in the first half of this year, the value of imported auto parts in Chongqing was 300 million US dollars, an increase of 12.3% over the same period of the previous year (the same below), with a decrease of 10.4 percentage points. The main features of import include:

1、 Monthly imports rise first and then fall. Last year, with the development of Chongqing's automobile industry, especially the continuous expansion of the production capacity of joint ventures, the import of automobile parts increased significantly. The first half of this year began to cool down. From January to April, the monthly import value kept growing, but the growth rate began to decline month by month from February. In May, there was a negative growth. In May and June, imports fell 1.6% and 35.3% year on year respectively.

2、 Japan and the EU are the main import markets. In the first half of this year, Chongqing imported US $130 million of auto parts from Japan, an increase of 1.1 times; Imports from the European Union were US $120 million, down 5.9%. The total imports from the above two markets accounted for 84.3% of the total import value of automobile parts in Chongqing in the same period.

3、 The import volume of main imported varieties of gearboxes declined, and the average price rose. In the first half of this year, Chongqing imported 154000 automobile transmissions, down 68.8%, valued at 1.6 US dollars, up 41.8%, accounting for 53.2% of the total import value of automobile parts in Chongqing over the same period. The average import price of transmissions for various models has increased to varying degrees. The automatic shift gearbox for cars is 1173 US dollars, up 8%, the gearbox for heavy diesel trucks is 1716 US dollars, up 1.1 times, and the gearbox for light diesel and gasoline trucks is 299 US dollars, up 2.6 times.

The reason for the declining trend of auto parts import in Chongqing is that auto manufacturers reduce production and demand for imported auto parts. This year, affected by the rise of oil prices and the sharp fall of the stock market, domestic cars pin Sales growth slowed down. According to the data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in the first half of the year, the cumulative production and sales of automobiles in China exceeded 5 million, up 16.71% and 18.52% year on year, with a moderate decline in growth compared with the same period last year.

In the first half of the year, the decline in the import of auto parts in Chongqing reflected to some extent that domestic auto manufacturers were under increasing pressure to survive under the influence of multiple adverse factors in the economic environment, and the subsequent trend should be noted.
