U.S. President Trump said on the 20th that he and North Korean leader Kim Jong un will have more meetings after their meeting in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

When Trump met with visiting Austrian Prime Minister Kurtz at the White House that day, he told the media that his upcoming meeting with Kim Jong un "will never be the last".

Trump said that he did not think that North Korea was unwilling to abandon nuclear weapons, and said that he was willing to lift sanctions against North Korea, but that North Korea needed to take "meaningful" actions first.

The White House issued a statement on the same day, saying that Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe had discussed the upcoming second meeting of the leaders of the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea by telephone earlier that day, and the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the "final and fully verified" denuclearization of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Trump said on the 8th that his second meeting with Kim Jong un will be held in Hanoi from 27 to 28 this month. Trump said on the 19th that achieving the denuclearization of North Korea is the ultimate goal of the US side. He is "not particularly eager" to achieve this goal immediately, while the US sanctions against North Korea will continue.

In June 2018, Trump and Kim Jong un met in Singapore and signed a joint statement, reaching agreement on "building a new DPRK US relationship" and "building a lasting stable peace mechanism on the Korean Peninsula". Trump promised to provide security to the DPRK, while Kim Jong un reiterated his commitment to achieving "complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula". (Reporter Zhu Dongyang and Liu Pinran)
