The Chinese women's volleyball team will compete with the Turkish women's volleyball team, the German women's volleyball team and the Czech women's volleyball team for a qualification in the first stage of the world group qualification match. The Chinese men's volleyball team is currently ranked 20th in the world. The opponents of the world group qualification match next year are the Canadian men's volleyball team, the Argentine men's volleyball team and the Finnish men's volleyball team.
During this year's World Volleyball Championships, the International Volleyball Federation announced the generation method of 12 qualifications for men's and women's volleyball teams for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Taking the women's volleyball team as an example, the Japanese women's volleyball team, the host, automatically obtained the qualification to participate, and the remaining 11 places were created in two stages. The first stage is the World Group Qualification Competition. The top 24 teams in the world are divided into snake shaped groups according to their rankings.
