People's Daily Online, Beijing, February 20 (Xiao Jinbo, Zhang Lin) Recently, an audio about "the mysterious disappearance of the maintenance personnel of Beijing Metro Line 5" was popular on the Internet, causing hot discussion among netizens. On the 19th, Beijing Metro Operation No. 1 Branch rejected the rumor.

The audio from the network said, "On the night of the accident, there were three male employees in Beixinqiao subway station. When they walked halfway through the tunnel, they found that two colleagues had disappeared... The subway made material compensation to the family members of the deceased, and the subway employees of Line 5 signed a confidentiality agreement.". Because the words are exaggerated and fit people's imagination of "late night subway", it quickly triggered netizen communication.

On the 19th, Beijing Metro Operation No. 1 Branch refuted the rumor: "It doesn't exist! The words "late night subway" really sound like a collection of various elements of "legend", but the real work scene is boring to the point of explosion, okay? In order to ensure the safety of everyone's travel, the maintenance work and reconstruction project at night are all race against the clock, both good and fast, and there is no time to play missing. What's more, the tunnel is densely equipped, and the glory of science is blinding. My friends, don't spread rumors or believe them, start with you~"

Subsequently, Beijing Metro official WeChat forwarded this.

In fact, this audio is from an alternative midnight emotional talk show. Its anchor said in the same series of works that "recently he has been collecting stories of supernatural and legendary stories for everyone". As for the "missing subway personnel" incident, netizens commented that it is a ghost story program, please don't believe it.

There are many similar urban legends, such as the mysterious disappearance of the track jumping girl in Central Hong Kong, the supernatural event of Babaoshan subway, the lost "ghost subway station" in Beijing, etc. The story is in the same line.

"In urban legends, the supernatural threat in traditional belief stories is sometimes replaced by modern scientific and technological products, but contemporary factors such as technical tools are added to the stories, making them different from the traditional version." Lei Xia, associate researcher of the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, reminded everyone that urban legends should be listened to as stories, not taken seriously!
