People's Daily Online, Beijing, November 17 According to the official WeChat official account of the People's Procuratorate of Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, on November 17, the Wenzhou Procuratorate filed a public prosecution against Zhong Yuan, the defendant of the "girl Didi hitchhiker murder case", on November 6, on suspicion of intentional homicide, rape and robbery.

According to the news, after the "girl Didi hitchhiking murder case", the Wenzhou procuratorial organ immediately sent personnel to the public security organ to intervene in advance to guide the investigation and evidence collection. On October 26, after accepting the review and prosecution, Wenzhou Municipal Procuratorate immediately organized capable forces to comprehensively and carefully verify the evidence, and on November 6, the defendant Zhong Yuan was promptly prosecuted for intentional homicide, rape and robbery.

The procuratorial organ charged that the defendant Zhong Yuan (male, 27 years old, from Jintang County, Sichuan Province), owing debt on the online lending platform due to gambling, planned to seize the opportunity to rob the property of female passengers when engaging in the Didi hitchhiking business. On August 23, 2018, the defendant Zhong Yuan failed to rob a female passenger for the first time. On August 24, 2018, the defendant Zhong Yuan committed robbery, rape and homicide against the victim Zhao Moumou by threatening with a knife and binding with tape, resulting in his death and throwing his body when he was engaged in the Didi hitchhiking business. The defendant Zhong Yuan shall be investigated for criminal responsibility for intentional homicide, rape and robbery according to law.
