In particular, recently 21 provinces have introduced or announced price reduction or free measures for tourist attractions, which will further stimulate the demand for holiday travel, and increase the risk of road traffic congestion and accidents. Recently, the Ministry of Public Security analyzed the characteristics of road traffic accidents during the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day in the past five years, analyzed and judged the road traffic safety situation during the "Two Festivals" this year, and issued traffic safety warning tips.
Influenced by the festival characteristics and holiday time, it is expected that the Mid Autumn Festival holiday will be dominated by short and medium distance tourism and home visits. The traffic flow will mainly be concentrated in the main urban areas of Beijing Tianjin Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, Chengdu Chongqing and other urban agglomerations, suburban leisure places, tourist attractions, as well as highways and national and provincial highways connecting urban agglomerations.
According to statistics, in recent years, self driving tours during the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day holidays accounted for 54%. By the end of August this year, the national car ownership had reached 233 million, up 12% compared with the same period last year, and the number of self driving trips during holidays will further increase. Due to the large number of private car drivers with low driving age and insufficient safety awareness, the risk of traffic violations and accidents increases. In recent years, the number of deaths caused by private car accidents during the Mid Autumn Festival and National Day accounted for 43%, much higher than other types of vehicles.
